price of the Murkmire green furnishing recipes?

Hi,

Any hope for the Murkmire green furnishing recipes being made more easily obtainable?
They have been more expensive than higher quality Murkmire recipes for a while. Personally, I would have expected the green recipes to be made more easily obtainable (in any way - drops or writ merchant etc).

Is this a bug or have the green Murkmire furnishing recipes been intentionally made expensive?
If this has been discussed and answered elsewhere please do tell me so!
Thank You!

unfortunately - as you said, green recipes are much harder to obtain. you can get blue and green recipes from writ voucher document pouches, but green recipes need to be farmed manually and there are very few spots in murkmire where you can do so. is it oversight? possibly but I have a feeling it IS indeed intentional. should it be corrected? IMO, yes.

will it? I doubt it, TBH. last time we had an awesome farming spot was in summerset and ZoS ended up nerfing it so that instead of entire room full of wardrobes to loot, only one of them was lootable.

It's been discussed plenty before, but that was years ago. Murkmire greens have always been really difficult to get. Nothing has changed these past few years.

It's an issue on not having forethought about drop availability when they set up the zone. The plans are are green, so they are set to drop more often than blues and purples, and as far as the loot tables are concerned, everything is just fine. The problem is, that there are so few places for Murkmire plans to drop in the first place. Most blues and purples you find on sale come from Envelopes bought with master writ vouchers. Before that was implemented, Murkmire blues and purples were worth a fortune.

The issue stems from dungeons in Murkmire not having the usual assortment of pots, jars, cabinets, drawers, and other such, that keep greens plentiful in other zones. Murkmire just has grub jars. The only real way to get Murkmire plans of any color to drop, is to grind-steal stuff from containers in towns. Those loot tables are, of course, diluted by all the thievery drops. It can take hours to get even one plan to drop, and there are no guarantees you get a green. You might get a blue, which are, due to those envelopes, plentiful enough to not be worth the hassle. Even purples can be bought from guild stores cheap enough to make farming them a bad idea, profits wise anyway. Thus very few people are willing to conmit to such arduous farming and this makes green Murkmire plans basically non-existent.

Some people park 10 characters in The Dominus Fatum ship wreck, since that has like half a dozen lootable containers that are not diluted with justice system crud, and then rotate between characters for an hour or two while listening to a pod cast or something. It's still basically amounts to torture as to how "fun" that is, but it is your best bet to get those missing greens, and will drown you in thousands of lock picks.

-edit- Forgot to add, that there is also the issue, that if you do get a green plan to drop in Murkmire, it's not guaranteed to be a Murkmire plan. It might be a base game plan.

I would assume that people interested in obtaining the green Murkmire furnishing recipes are too few in number to be vocal enough to capture ZOS-s ear?
Easiest to correct the bug would be making the current Murkmire writ voucher mixed quality blue/purple envelope contain green recipes as well or make another envelope that does contains only green ones...

Also, the vast majority of players that randomly stumble across one will probably just use it as it's only a green as far as they're concerned. Very few people would even know how rare they are to begin with or associate that with the massive prices they demand. In addition, they are not really labeled "uniquely" like other zones. I think one is just a wax melon. Nobody would have any reason to believe it's unique to Murkmire at all.

We've been having issues with this for two years. Any chance for a dev update on plans to make these more readily-available? Similarly, plans like the Ayleid-style furnishings, dwemer furnishings, daedric furnishings, and the redguard cylinder and enchanted khajiit brazier are all chronically underavailable. Housing fans need some love in this regard!

There is no bug, it's simply a case of knowing where to look.

I have personally looted every plan available from this zone, and obviously, the green ones drop more than the blue and purple ones. I'm not a fan of the artificial demand created by making the blue and purples easy to obtain through the writ voucher system. But, like everyone else, I need gold for my furnishing materials, armor tempers, guild donations, etcetera, so I don't mind providing a service by making these plans available at whatever price the market will bear. Yes, it's a PITA for someone who doesn't know the zone well because of the logistics, but if you put in the effort, do the research, and learn by trial and error, you can get these plans for yourself with a minimum of difficulty.

I'm not one who believes that everything needs to be handed to us on a silver platter. And I support the concept of some things remaining rare and difficult to obtain. However, that's simply not the case in this instance. There are plenty of times when I may be the only person in the zone who's not doing BRP or farming leads. So come look around. There are lots of out of the way places to get your plans. And I would start with doing the main zone quest.

It is correct that there are not enough players farming Murkmire. I own all of the Murkmire plans, and bought all of the blues and greens before envelopes were released. Did not pay more than 50k for a blue or 20k for a green. But this was at Murkmire launch, and no one knew when envelopes were coming out (if at all). Summerset and Clockwork City furnisher's documents were not released until almost 2 years after launch, a far cry from the 6 months after Morrowind was released.

oh...that's a plan I've never heard of and over double the max amount of money I've ever had....so if I don't happen to find it... then I won't have it.
Tenesi Faryon of Telvanni - Dunmer Sorceress who deliberately sought sacrifice into Cold Harbor to rescue her beloved.
Hisa Ni Caemaire - Altmer Sorceress, member of the Order Draconis and Adept of the House of Dibella.
Broken Branch Toothmaul - goblin (for my goblin characters, I use either orsimer or bosmer templates) Templar, member of the Order Draconis and persistently unskilled pickpocket
Mol gro Durga - Orsimer Socerer/Battlemage who died the first time when the Nibenay Valley chapterhouse of the Order Draconis was destroyed, then went back to Cold Harbor to rescue his second/partner who was still captive. He overestimated his resistance to the hopelessness of Oblivion, about to give up, and looked up to see the golden glow of atherius surrounding a beautiful young woman who extended her hand to him and said "I can help you". He carried Fianna Kingsley out of Cold Harbor on his shoulder. He carried Alvard Stower under one arm. He also irritated the Prophet who had intended the portal for only Mol and Lyris.

That's actually a pretty good deal on that plan. And it's not even the most desirable of the Murkmire greens.

@Jaraal I am so glad I wasn't eating or drinking when I looked at that price list. Holy crackers....

Well given my lack of overwhelming success at farming Murkmire and Dwemer stuff this week, I doubt I will be awash in those plans ... ever... but it gives me something "to come back to" any time I'm looking for "something else to do".

Well... After spending some time exploring and farming....I can now understand why the recipes are so scarce.

This has got to be one of the most annoying as F*** zones. One way passages/trips off of cliffs ... "hidden" areas that don't show on the map even once you have been there.

    ARghhh....
