There are 12 days (24-hour periods from 10 AM EDT to 10 AM EDT) during this event.

    100% / 12 days = 8.33% per day.

If we're already at 11% after the first day, we're slightly ahead of the average, and should hit 100% by the ninth or tenth day if the number of antiquities dug up stays constant. Obviously, it can be expected to fluctuate from day to day, with the weekends likely having more activity-- and as someone pointed out, there are two weekends during this event-- so we should be okay.

    Thu 09/24 - Day 1 - Averaged goal: 9% - Actual progress: 11% - Projected: 100% by Fri 10/02 or Sat 10/03
    Fri 09/25 - Day 2 - Averaged goal: 17% - Actual progress: 25% - Projected: 100% by Thu 10/01
    Sat 09/26 - Day 3 - Averaged goal: 25% - Actual progress: 38% - Projected: 100% by Thu 10/01
    *Sun 09/27 - Day 4 - Averaged goal: 34%
    Mon 09/28 - Day 5 - Averaged goal: 42%
    Tue 09/29 - Day 6 - Averaged goal: 50%
    Wed 09/30 - Day 7 - Averaged goal: 59%
    Thu 10/01 - Day 8 - Averaged goal: 67%
    Fri 10/02 - Day 9 - Averaged goal: 75%
    Sat 10/03 - Day 10 - Averaged goal: 84%
    Sun 10/04 - Day 11 - Averaged goal: 92%
    Mon 10/05 - Day 12 - Averaged goal: 100%

At the rate we're going, we can probably expect to hit 100% on Friday, October 2nd, or Saturday, October 3rd.

    Sun 09/27 - 53% now !!

We are SMASHING the goal, and according to @SeaGtGruff kindly giving us some maths we are ahead of the game by about 2 whole days already hitting the projected Tuesday mark! We are over half-way there and the event is only on day 4!

    Great job ESO Fam!

This is the third year Zos has done an event like this. Each of the previous years Zos updated the progress on the bar only once each day. Not sure why some people think things would be different this year.

Maaaaybe they weren't playing during those events and didn't know the format (like me?) Also, maybe - and possibly indicated quite carefully in the original post - it was meant to be a bit of a joke at the OP's own expense not knowing what that format was and jokingly assuming the worst in a hyperbolic way?

    Anyway.

HOORAY!! WELL DONE GAMING MINIONZ!! WE ARE GETTING THERE!!! ^^

They're not available yet, the fact that it's unlocked means it will be available (via the crownstore, but free) once the event is over but they'll put all the rewards up at one time rather than adding them one by one.

53%, not bad! Figured we'd get some more % with todays and tomorrows jumps, due to the weekend.

Even with only 10% each day we'll make it in just 5 days. Scry on! ( I will too )

68%, very nice going all you scryers!

The next few days we will probably see a lower percentage, as the weekend is now over. My guess is around 10-12% on a weekday.

Also my props to everyone who respects other players in regards to crafting nodes(basically everyone did), and for those who kill mobs in excavation zone areas so scryers can do their thing!!

I got one scryer to level 3(from zero), but this character had no skillpoints left. So I re-specced an older character to continue scrying. That character started at zero and is now level 9.5, will probably hit level 10 tomorrow. After which I don't really know what to do yet, maybe get some skillpoints on that other character, and continue scrying on him.

Progress was never linear before. It's a big wave in the beginning, then next week it slows down to a trickle. The last day you are supposed to be scared, because previous day progress wasn't enough to reach goal today, but community makes last big effort, goal gets reached, everyone is celebrating.

Considering the 100% is completely arbitrary goal set by ZOS, there was never a chance of missing the goal.

Did we make 100% last year?

But I do agree and said similar when they did the Summerset event. This is a PR move to sell more copies of the chapter and it would be a very bad PR move to dangle such a carrot without providing a real measurement for the goals. Not suggesting it is a bad event, just pointing out my reasoning for what we both pretty much agree on.

I tend to doubt that it's a "sure thing" in terms of being some kind of rigged or fictitious progress indicator that's assured of reaching 100% no matter what we do.

Instead, I suspect that ZOS probably looks at the number of active players and chooses a reasonable number of antiquities per player, such as 100 antiquities per player-- which would be an average of 8.33 antiquities a day per player-- and uses that to determine what a reasonable goal would be. That way our chances of attaining the goal are excellent, but we still have to make an effort to attain it.

Obviously, the number I gave is made up for illustrative purposes, and I chose a rather low number per day per player because I figure ZOS knows that some players either won't be able to participate or won't be interested in participating, while other players will put a great deal of time and effort into participating.

We definitely did. Do you not remember the giant dragon hoard with all the nesting gifts?

I think the bar will say that we hit the goal early over the weekend, a day or two before the end of the event, because then people who haven't participated in the event or purchased the chapter yet will have an incentive to slide in and buy the chapter at the last minute to get the gifts.

I would do my part again tonight (just like I have for the past week), except maintenance is always right at my prime playtime. So I get maybe an hour to play tonight. Maybe 90min if I'm lucky.

It's up to the rest of you good folks, until tomorrow...

Seriously though, once this is done I will probably only dig up anything they add in future. It's put me off getting any more of the existing furnishings.

I have to admit that the last two days have not been kind to antiquities. We had to go the 140 mile round trip yesterday to the truck dealership to order a new engine oil dipstick. While we were in town, we hit the bank, Panda Express, and the liquor store. The truck totally died in the liquor store parking lot. Lots of horrible noise, really bad smell....

Called the tow service, had it towed back to the dealership, and was expecting today to hear that the engine was bricked. Lucky me, it was the starter apparently. On a diesel, that's not cheap ($475 US parts, labor, and tax) - but hey, at least it's not a $20k US engine or $30k US used truck.... And the rental car isn't exactly cheap either. But hey, you do what you have to.

So I didn't get much done yesterday. Today, husband had doctor's appointments, and we had to shop a bit while in THAT town (the 80 mile round trip one) so didn't get home very early today either. Got a bit more digging done today than yesterday though....

Tomorrow I'll be back to normal. But either Thursday or Friday we have to go pick the truck up and return the rental car. *sigh* Not really a happy camper - but at least I'm not buying an engine or a truck.

We're at 83% now. We will most likely make it.
My first char is now level 10 on scrying, for some reason this makes all scry's and digs harder. Which is kinda counterintuïtive, and weird after going through all that effort. So I started scrying on a character which was at 0 still.

PS: The last few days scrying has been slow for me, as the excavation sites seem to be always at the furthest walk from where I am. Or just a far walk in general.

I've been doing about 3-4 antiquites each night. That's probably not a lot compared to some people, but that and a daily quest for tickets takes up a fair chunk of my available time, so doing more would mean not doing anything else in the game and that gets boring quickly.

But I've talked to a lot of people who only started doing antiquities during this event, including one friend who swore he wasn't going to touch anything to do with Greymoor until he'd completely finished all the previous expansions and zones, but then was persuaded to make an exception when he found out he just needed to visit the map to unlock the skill line and could then do it in other areas of the game. So it sounds like it is having the intended effect of getting more people to try the system.

If everyone goes crazy with scrying and digging today and tonight, we might possibly make 100% by tomorrow (Thursday), but Friday is more likely based on our average progress, or maybe not until Saturday if progress continues at 7% or 8% a day.

Speaking purely for myself, I didn't play as much ESO Monday and Tuesday, especially early Tuesday morning because of my internet being down.

I know there was a problem on Monday or Tuesday with Microsoft 365 servers (unrelated to my issues), but I don't know if Xbox users had any issues.

And wasn't there a problem on Tuesday with the Playstation network?

Besides all that, it seems likely that the amount of game hours being logged by the community as a whole probably drops on Monday and Tuesday anyway, what with the weekend being over and most people having to get back to work.

So it's certainly understandable why our progress rate took a hit on Monday and Tuesday, but we should still be pretty much assured of reaching 100% this weekend. :)

@amapola76 - thanks! Yep, but it really was just the starter, and we'll be picking it up Friday, so it's all good now. I started scrying at 7am and quit at 3pm - it wasn't very fast really, as I was to all the purples, and it's more difficult to get the "real" target (especially with my ping). I didn't really have anyone with enough skill points available to pick up the Coalescence etc. things, so it's just a slog right now.

I'll be done with the purples on both PC NA and EU early tomorrow, and then I'll pick a couple of other alts to do the lowbie stuff over on 'cause it's SO much simpler, even the blues.
