How does this game perform on Xbox now

I'm moving over to Xbox come November and wondering if performance has improved before i buy it again? I know no one is in a position to say about the new consoles, but before i left to go over to the PS4, I remember this game was truly awful for me on the Xbox One. Did performance improve with the One S and One X?

For me personally, the difference between the X1 and PS4 was big. Not huge, but enough for me to get by for all those years until it became a problem for the PS4 too (downgraded graphics, draw distance etc)

the distance was reduced on xbox, too. You now can often see placeholder grafics or just nothing, being replaced by details when you approach.

E.g. leaving the bank in Rimmen you cannot see the big wall down at the stablemaster, it fades in when you walk down the stairs.

While this breaks immersion, it seems this and/or other measures lead to a better performance.

Situation was a catastrophe starting last year maybe 2 weeks before Elsweyr was released.
Heavy staff attacks did not fire, extreme lag. This was fixed several weeks later, but since then such issues came back several times.
At moment, I do not have these issues, except some additional crashes now during the event.

What happens though, is that on weekends lag increases. It feels like that it starts on saturdays, gets extreme on sundays, and then suddenly is back to normal, as if the server was rebooted.

But overall the performance is ok at moment, compared to the almost unplayable situations for weeks last year and earlier this year.

I play on xbox one S, on EU and NA from europe. Mainly PVE overland content, so cannot comment on trials or cyrodiil.
The short visits to cyrodiil to farm transmute crystals were mixed, many loadscreens just riding, getting logged out now and then during fights in keeps (maybe once per hour). Looks like the situation is far from as good as in overland.

Cheers, mate. Really appreciated. I would be coming to the EU server too. So it's good to know.

Nah, gamepass is just gonna be too good to pass up for me personally. Undoubtedly gonna miss playing some games, but will still have my pro so I'll still get to play Horizon 2. Horizon and BB were about the only exclusives i played and enjoyed. The exclusivity thing was never a biggie because my main game this gen was ESO and now Borderlands 3.

Might buy a PS5 when/if a pro version ever gets released.

Xbox One X is a different experience to the One or the One S, nothing downgraded here and with an external SSD it is very quick at loading with no graphic issues that can be present on the One or One S. This will keep me going until my Series X arrives.

Eu is even better than NA performancewise, as there are less players around than 1-2 years ago.

An example: I am very active trader.
After 24 hours, I check the sales history of the guildstores to look up, what I sold in which store.

On NA, I must scroll through 120 pages of sales, on EU through only 20-30.

This has advantages and disadvantages. You have not the long waiting queues to enter cyro. You don't need to pay dues for guildtraders, as there is no competition, so every active large guild gets a major trading location.

On the downside, solo-play is more difficult.
I farm(ed) worldbosses to get rare style material, meanwhile this has turned into a pure solo task on EU, while on NA you usually just wait 5-10 minutes until other players arrive, so the bosses are burned down quickly.

I would recommend to start on both servers, then decide where to proceed after 1 month depending on your preferences.

ah yes, I forgot to mention that, I also use an external SSD on the One S. This reduced the time of loading screens a lot.
