Hello,
Please reunite the two servers, i have friends in USA which created their toons on the US server, and i created mines on EU server, and today it took us 30 minutes to understand we couldn't invite each others because of this, we wanted to play together for the undaunted pledges.
Now my USA friends (husband and wife) have created a toon together on european server so we may play together, but they will have to start from scratch (they are CP 600 on US Server). This give you an idea of the sort of friends they are :)
They will have to level up the bank, buy the pets and mount they had on US server again, ...

The more important is when we search for dungeon (pledges mainly) it may take hour of queue, i am sure it would take half of this time if everybody was on the same server.

This system is bad, the best would be : One server for everybody and a character limit by map (more than 100 players on map create another "instance?" session) but we could play all together, and we will not have to wait so much time for dungeons.
Common Eso, you banished the factions for PVE dungeons, etc, you could do the same with EU/US Server...

All together for a better world

Ced

PS : today it took me 2 hours of queue to start my pledge, and finally guild friends came to help me. If we had one server for everybody I am sure it would have took far less time.

Not going to happen, especially now. The server has been way too laggy and would not be able to handle it, would crash the servers harder than anything.

(My ping has been 200-999+ the last couple of days, when its usually 70-100).

So it would not be able to handle it at all. Plus PvP will literally become unplayable, more so than what it currently is.

If they had a bigger server, could fix some bugs, amnog other things, then maybe they can change it, until then, no.
I have been a member of ESO since April 4th 2014 but didn't get a code until recently when I asked.
My @ name on ESO is the same as on here.

They need to change datacenter first becouse of lags. They need scattered servers all over the globe to handle that. For now it is impssible what you are asking for.

Thier service provider can't handle single fart. They are basicly owned by Microsoft now so it might change a little in the future. Microsoft services quality is much better than anything ZoS related companies ever created. I wish all of thier employees so that they can finally fulfill their plans for the game which are blocked by management and the budget I think.

Keep your fingers crossed for them and hate every *** decision they made as much as you can, then maybe something will change.

No, thank you. I've been on NA server and latency makes everything unplayable.
However, it would be really nice if they allowed character transfers for people who want to play on a different server or platform without losing their progress.

There were always two different servers. If anything we should have more servers, since the present cant handle current load.

When you say "reunite" you make it sound like the regional servers were previously one. They were not. Nobody playing competitively in Europe would want a server in the US and vice versa. Given the server issues that some players - especially the competitive ones - have it is clear that merging server populations would be an absolute disaster and simply isn't going to happen.

You might in any event want to edit the title of this topic to e.g. "request" as "petitions" are against forum rules and will get locked or deleted.

Look on the bright side; you can help each other grind xp on your respective away servers. And what I mean by that is at least you don't have to grind a new character solo. The servers will never be amalgamated into one, for reasons already stated. The opposite actually needs to happen. By having toons on both servers you're already ahead of the curve.

This, now add that many in game systems like the dungeon finder tend to fail under heavy load, doubling the population would increase that.
Grinding just make you go in circles.

Your long queue could be caused by the event going on and everybody participating in that.

Also who gets to keep their character name when there is a 'Tim the Great' on both servers?

To be perfectly honest, I've never understood the contradiction of advertising "megaservers" (aka everyone can play together) and then splitting those megaservers (which means, peeps cannot play together anymore). If the issue were just geographicial proximity and ping, that can be achieved without splitting up the playerbase entirely.

Iceland would be an option, but it would make the Aussies and Kiwis cry,and rightfully so. The only situation where it works well is for Europeans playing with American northeasterners and Atlantic Canadians. The better solution would be making collectables account-wide.

Or you are in an queue of lots of people trying to do dungeons.
Again the dungeon finder fails under load.

Even if we had no router delays it would be an stupid idea.

No thank you. I think the game actually needs to go the way of other games and have more smaller servers.

Maybe have EU/NA share que times for things such as PvP or PvE trials/dungeons....but regardless of what anyone thinks, the game isn’t changing anytime soon

The in-game economics are totally different as well. There has been a few "gold exploits" on the EU server, and they definitely didn't catch everyone. That difference alone will make sure this merge never happens.

As a reference point, you just look at the Gold for Crowns variance between EU & NA. Quick glance at ESO exchange sees people wanting to sell crowns on EU at 350:1, while NA is 250:1

With the item collection system now coming, there is no reason why they cannot mirror Crown store purchases, CP and Collections between servers. That would take most of the leg work out of swapping.

As for your characters, inventory, mats, etc, doubtful.

I agree but this is a false problem, remove the nickname and use only the PSN ID...
Also on Destiny, everybody (us and eu) are on same server, and there is much more people than on ESO..
On final fantasy XIV (if I am correct) you can visit other servers to play a bit with a friend (I could be wrong)
On Star Trek online, everybody is on the same server (Worldwide)
On Warframe everybody is on the same server (Worldwide) - not even need PSN or Pay
There is a lot of solutions (I don't know them because I am not a network engineer) - They exist
The server don't have to be in an specific area, it could be worldwide, with repeaters for low ping...

I was playing with my US friends on Star Trek online, even if we had not the best ping when we were playing together, we could play together...

At least keep your champion points when you create a character on the other server. This is the biggest concern.
Could you imaging my two friends were CP 810 and CP 600 and they will have to start from cp 0, this only to play with me, or me CP 350 if I create a character on US Server ?

I can understand that when the motive for playing on a second server is to play with friends in a different region.

However, people also play on a second server precisely in order to start over without champion points. Completely starting over makes the whole game fresh again.

Honestly, if you switched to the NA server, it wouldn't be too hard to get to CP 350 again and beyond.

How did you play this long without realizing your friends were not on the same server as you?

    ...ok?

I should probably work on my character on the EU server to experience the early CP curve now. I was already above the breakpoint when they introduced scaling, and I never had a CP cost me less than 400k XP (currently they cost over 1 million XP each).

The current two servers cant handle the populations on them at times and you want to combine them?

    No thank you.

Honestly, now with the accelerated CP gain for low CP characters, going from CP0 to 200+ is pretty fast.
I got my alt accout to CP 200 or so and I was amazed at how fast it went.

Will it make a difference if they did? No idea I know they do instance the game as is so maybe it could work. Though as you said keeping champion points the same honestly I'd be a fan of being able to freely copy your toons and everything you have to both servers since you already earned everything.

Quite honestly I'd never spend enough effort on to the other server I have put enough time into one and it still takes me time to do things as is and I have other things to do outside of this game.

The servers were never united, so they cannot be reunited.

Beyond that, there are solid reasons why merging them into one server is a very bad idea. Start with the added lag; some will experience that will make it difficult to play their game. Umm, just ask those in AUS/NZ area what a ping of 300+ is like. Most MMORPGs use smaller servers, which allows them to place them in more locations. One server for the entire world makes no sense.

Take all that a step further, both PC servers have had issues due to larger burgeoning populations. EU has suffered the most, which has lead to times of dealing with long queues just to get into the game, but it also affects server performance.

If you want to play on a server with some friends then roll a new character on that server as that is the only remedy.

How does this actually work in real life anyway. Have they literally got offices with servers in both the US and EU? Or are the servers just in the same building, but allocated to different regions?
