What’s the point of the cp10 to 160 stretch?

I mean... In the same vein, what's the purpose of level 1-50? I mean, it's basically the same thing. The only difference is that instead of being level 60, 70, 80, etc, it's called something else, and levels per tiny point rather than actual levels.

lvl 3-50 serves some sort of purpose. It allows you to learn the very basics of you're character in a sense and once you reach around lvl 10, you actually do get some use from the gear. CP10-80 serves none because you earn xp hand over fist. The mats are useless as is the gear. CP80-160 is nothing but another needless grind and filler. It's not a coincidence that most CP80-CP160's just hang out on the dolmen runs. No point farming for gear or mats. All the gear you get from quests and dungeons are useless too. Like i said, non CP gear can and is useful. It can be used time after time. Once you reach CP160, all the previous CP gear is worthless. you can never use it again on your account.

I once argued that cp should have been character specific. I still think so, that or the should in crease the gear levels to match current cp levels. But that's just me.

What I don't like, is that as opposed to crafting armor and weapons, there's a huge gap with jewlries between level 40 and CP 10... Thus between 45 or so and cp 10, a newbie must count on dropped jewlry rather than crafted ones.

I meant... With enchanting glyphs, not jewelry.

I think anyone who has an issue with CP gain should really look at where the game ahs come from. I know a lot of us out there remember the Vet Rank grind. VR15-VR16 took FOREVER and we still had the issue with diminishing stats as we level. I'm not saying that I disagree with the OPs stance whatsoever, all I am pointing out is that it used to be a bajillion times worse dealing with the vet rank system.

Seriously what’s the point of this stupid stretch of cp? Zos - “oh let’s be nice and give them more xp to level faster.” Except let’s add in mats every 10 levels so they can’t do writs and oh waits there’s more! Let’s make their gear get worse and worse every cp they gain! Woo!

On a serious note. It’s absolutely ridiculous that there even is this stupid stage of cp. Need to give new players 160 cp as soon as they are allowed cp. Awesome gaming experience! Smh.

Stop complaining you only need to level once to CP 160

Guess you only have 1 acct.... oh and you’re complaining about complaining. Makes sense.......

Indeed, it makes a lot of sense to me - and I have two accounts, both with characters on two servers.

Totally agree here. With the eventual rework of the CP system, I'm hoping the eliminate that gap. It should be once you hit 50, the next step is CP001 - CPXXX. All gear should simply be 1-50, and then Champion Level (No Level Number)

gear and stats is ok, imo, but that materials... I bet almost no one know the difference between, let's say: Kresh Fiber and Silverweave and Topgrain hide. For me is just a wtf? materials. I don't see any point of them in game.

Yeah, they could streamline the materials like they did for Jewelry. Or, seriously, just have gear be level 50 and be done with it.

To directly answer the OP's question: There is no point any more.

It was originally built around how levels worked before CPs, when after L50 we had Veteran Ranks. I must admit, there's really very little point these days, especially as CPs are account wide so any new alt gets to L50 and then auto-advances to your current account-wide CP level.

Personally, I'd like to see an option to build a new char at L50 if you have already taken that race or class through the ranks. The levelling element is just a needless grind at this point.
