Best stamina proc set?

Hello!

I played the game long ago, and returned recently. I read there were a lot of changes to armor sets so almost all info and previous conversations arguments about those sets are obsolete. I try to re-learn a lot of things again. I plan to have a tank with tremorscale monster set and battalion defender as main 5 piece, so i can give some healing to the group while tanking. I want a dps stamina proc set for the weapon/jewellery slot. After all the changes I am confused what should I use. I know that I will not have an execute slotted. Any suggestions? I would like to go for the strongest considering damage output, but if possible I would also favour a set that has only a minimal fancy animation, or not at all. I may favour something "puritan". However, this is only a secondary criteria for me. This would be a fun build for me that I would use for all available content casually. Like doing BGs, overland stuff, cyrodiil, and dungeons.

Do you have any suggestions? What do you think what is the strongest one?

Another question is that could a build like this complete maelstrom arena or is that require a dedicated dps build?

Aegis caller or Pillar of Nirn seems to be the hightest DPS proc set for stambase build. But i dont know all of them si, maybe there is better. I check what i had in bank and both provide best DPS. Aegis caller is a static proc. If you move you love it. Nirn seems better to me because when it proc, enemies bleed so you can move after.
Hope someone else will help you. I didn't mentionned Alkosh because, if you play mostly solo, you wont be able to proc it. Sadly

Hundings + Briarheart + Selene. It will never go out of style. If you are lacking AOE damage you can change Selene for Velidreth.

Defiler is worth a look after change as well. It’s a guaranteed proc now that deals AOE poison damage. This set works well on stamblade which I find lacking in AOE though I still prefer the healing and increased damage from Briarheart. I’m also not a fan of crazy animations when I play stamina toons.

Unfathomable Darkness looks interesting too. You get crit, pen, extra dmg plus a guaranteed proc. It might be worth a look for a fun build.

I gotta be that guy here.. there is no solid answer for 1 combination of sets fitting multiple roles and different content in the game, especially for the tanking role. You will be a jack of all trades, master of none, making your time in the game harder and possibly harder for others. The pull of this game is horizontal progression and how you can farm 1 set, yet keep it forever, we have a billion different sets that work better or worse for different content so utilize that. Enjoy trying out different builds.

For example, if you build as a tank for dungeons, you're going to have a much harder time in maelstrom arena where killing the ads as fast as possible is the key to success. How would a set like Battalion Defender or 5+ heavy pieces help you there? You're going to end up forcing a 2 hour run on something that could be completed in 40 minutes once you learn the mechanics of it all. By not burning down ads before they multiply, you make MA much harder on yourself.

I guess it depends what content your running and who you're playing with, you did say you're playing casual so I'm sure it's not detremental to your experience if you're only running normal difficulty content.. I just have to advise against the 1 setup fits all methodology. You can setup CP that way to great effect, but sets are so easy to swap, there is really no reason not to..

My suggestions with that in mind..

    Dungeon tanking:
    • 100% best option has to be Alkosh for what you want. (Trial set)
      • It does very strong aoe damage, it's best in slot for end game tanking, it helps your team by debuffing targets which increases group dps, it includes Minor Slayer to help YOU do more dps (although that should not be your focus as a tank). Requires synergies, so don't bother using in solo content or even pvp. This set isn't flashy at all.
    • Bahraha's Curse.
      • AoE damage, self heal that stacks from every additional target making you unkillable when surrounded, overland set so easy to obtain or buy, can also work in solo content although its dps is pretty low.
    • Powerful Assault (good damage for group and yourself, basically hundings rage) or Aegis of Galenwe (empower for group on blocking, more tanky than PA)
      • Neither are "damage" procs with effects, just stat procs.

    Maelstrom and Solo Content:
    • Swap out Battalion Defender on body.
      • 100% best body option is Vicious Ophidian (Trial set).
        • Don't be alarmed by it being a trial set, very easy to obtain, the craglorn trials are from the base game and can be obtained on normal difficulty, yet by ZOS's standards it's considered a "perfected" set when compared to False God's Devotion (same set but for Magicka in a dlc).
        • Sustain, damage, speed, there is absolutely no worthy replacement for any solo content in the game when compared to this set. It just does so much and you will regret ever removing it from yourself when you play other content in the game.
      • Front bar sets, all of the above comments had a lot of great suggestions. Briarheart (damage and survivability), Unfathomable Darkness looks cool with the birds (only single target), Defiler (aoe poison and stun, great for survival), Aegis Caller (probably the strongest aoe proc set in the game, but stationary, not great for Maelstrom).

PVP there is so many options, anything can work really. Venomous Smite is very strong right now, Unleashed Terror is good too. Depends what you want.

if youre going to be doing pve and pvp you should get 2 different builds

Savanna Scales change would pair well with Venomous Smite for constant AOE damage. You could pair the Selenes set for ST proc damage.

I am running Aegis Caller with AY in dungeons, and it is something. With Aegis, you do have to be mindful of where you place it, but it is hitting over 5k/sec (on everything in its radius). Plus, the animation is sick, although I believe I am the only one that can see it.

Everyone call see it. I had many complaints about using it along with murkoldin, storm atronach and stormfist. Too much visual effects, they say. I know one thing for sure, it is a pain in the ass for tanks to deal with it.

You can only see Aegis Caller if you have the setting for hiding ally effects turned off.

Most necessary skills with Synergies are still viewable like Templars Shards and Sorcs Lightning Flood. Skills and effects like Volley and Aegis Caller are hidden.

Many are mentioning aegis (and I do use it on my solo stamsorc) but keep in mind it can be tricky esp if you're fighting a smaller mob as you won't be able to see when to block or roll.

I’m on Xbox, and I believe consoles still don’t have that option, for ally effects.

Interesting. Can anyone else chime in to say if it is or isn't available to console players?

Shame. It's really useful, but a little half baked. For example, Maw of the Infernal is not affected, still blocking an entire trials view.. Highlighted more so this patch because the set is usually bis for mag dd.
