I do have a video on this, but it's not necessary to watch. I am simply passing along this verified information because it's crucial to know and I like you guys n stuff.

There are two versions of MM right now, 2.5 which is Philgo's last version and 3.0 by Sharlikran. Both of these (and ATT) are affected by the throttle in place for data requests from the server. If you use 2.5, you might think /mm missing is solving your data holes but it isn't. Generally, it's timing out after just getting about 10%-15% and just keeps querying the server.

So for both versions of MM, at the present time, the only way you can be sure you are getting all of your data is whenever you log in, go back using guild sales history/e for the amount of hours you were offline.

Further, I checked with Aldanga, who codes ATT, and their answer to my same question was: "ATT still attempts to pull history at regular intervals, but addons are still throttled. If you want all of your data right now (or you won't be or haven't been online for a while), the only way to get it is to manually pull."

So your data in any of these programs may trickle through or eventually be fully pulled, but until/unless ZOS gives us the cache on their end they discussed, the only way to be certain you get your info without gaps is to do the guild history technique.

TL;DR Use the guild history/e thing every time you log in for the time you were offline.

for more discussion, see the comments on ESOUI for Sharlikran's 3.0 version of mm or feel free to ask me questions, if I don't know I'll get you the answer.

Thanks for drawing our attention to the case for making a decent trading system that is not dependent on ineffective third party addons for optimum effectiveness and which is therefore equally viable across all platforms  !

Thanks for letting us know, and for putting it in text form instead of a video!

I switched from MM to ATT a while ago because MM seemed to be consistently giving me inaccurate or out of date price estimates (which is the main thing I use it for) but found similar issues with ATT. It's helpful to know it's not just my imagination of both my guilds somehow being an exception to the average prices seen elsewhere in the game.

Exactly. I've heard conflicting information from people and that's why I asked the addon creators/maintainers themselves.

You're welcome about the text. I'll do it whenever what I have to share is good for text format. It's more about getting the info out there than anything else.

The API has worked like this for some time now.

I just thought I would chip in and also add, the API will only ever return up to 10 days of sales information. It would be on the addon of your choice on how to save that information historically past the 10 days.

So, if you were on holiday for 2 weeks, there will be a 4 day period of which you could not gain the information. How necessary or relevant historic data past 10 days, will of course vary from player to player.

But I thought I would just highlight this since it wasn't mentioned.

Oh, also please be kind to your addon creators/maintainers who work with sales data, it can be an ever changing playing field :)

I do mention this in the video - but since I wanted to make it short/sweet, i left out that detail. But since you mention it and make a good point, I'll go into detail:

"The first time you install 3.0 you need to go back ten days in all of your guilds. That's as far as ZOS retains... 3.0 automates this to some extent, pay attention to the text box where it tells you that it is waiting for guild history. That's when you go in and get your guild sales history by pressing G and going to history tab, then sales."

thanks for pointing it out. :)))
