If the tank is off in the middle of nowhere, not following group preferred tactics and dying needlessly, then they are probably not a good tank.
I suspect there is a story behind this question and many details about that story are being left out. It could be anything, bad healer, bad tank or anything else in between.

Backstory is after getting hit with 80K and dying I said I don't think I got any heals. Response was Im supposed to heal myself.
