✭✭✭✭✭I don't use detect pots myself (although I know I should), nor even invisibility pots, but this conversation reminds me of the PvP streamer who posted a clip where another player accused him of hacking and using illegal cheats because he'd equipped a stack of detect pots in his quickslots and used them to spot the other player while he was hidden or invisible.
It makes sense that if there's a potion or spell or skill that gives a player an advantage, there should also be potions or spells or skills to help other players counter against that advantage.I've fought mudcrabs more fearsome than me!1 -
xxslam48xxb14_ESO✭✭✭✭✭How are detect pots an issue for nightblades when you can snipe from outside the detection range? Simmering frenzy to 50% hp-> snipe-> snipe(most targets are dead here)-> finisher of your choice/drop ult. Then you re cloak before the enemy team even knows what happened. Its not an issue and if you do die, just make sure you have a positive k/d before you do otherwise you are dead weight. You already messed up pretty bad if they used the detect pot to begin with. Ideally you should only attack targets that are totally unaware of your presence.
Pro tip is to fire from a position that line of sights you from everyone except your target. Pick a mark that you know will die in one combo or has bad positioning. People almost never turn around, so shooting targets at the rear of a zerg is usually free. You can press tab to "lock on" to your mark so no pets or other players get in the way of your assassination(works good against a certain flavor of the month monster set). Farm monsters for ultimate so you never fail to kill a target due to not having it(very easy in imperial city). I am greatly enjoying my medium armor stamblade these days. Leave it alone.
Part of the fun/challenge of NB is managing cloak in the most efficient way. Playing against NB is irritating as heck. There have to be counters. If they use detect potion, they lose the ability to lose a more beneficial potion for the whole cooldown, tat is a big trade off.4 GOs, and General, and bunches of prefects etc-- all classes...I've wasted a lot of time in PVP over the last 8 years9 -

Yes you should, that's why there are bombers. There is a need to combat giant zergs running around trampling over everyone. Without bombers then it is just zerg vs zerg. zergbase_ESO✭✭✭✭Can you please explain what you mean by multiple? As far as I'm aware, the potion cooldown is universal. You can only use one every 45 seconds, regardless of whether you switch pots or not.
I think OP did not give a ball group enough space and someone running the pot tagged them. Also Mage light and other abilites. I tend give enemy ball groups distance and pots have not been an issue and if player see's you and you vanish and they use one that is fair game in my opinion.1 -

HOW is it unfair, unbalanced and stupid? when using a detect pot you have 15 sec to kill a nb or the nb will be gone. Things that kill you tends to be annoying and "unfair". but you should stop relying so much on ONE skill.
and how do you think it will be FAIR to have a NB in stealth with pretty much no way to get detected? Camo hunter and mage light costs 4k resources respectively. NON sustainable.
Detect pots are a blessing in the game, and its incredibly fun to see these nb in stealth thinking they are safe, only to be killed in seconds after. Invisiblity SHOULD have multiple counters. and zos is not going to listen to this nonsene im afraid.

Counters:
Magelight, Camo Hunter, EVERY AOE SKILL IN THE GAME.
In this busted game even Light Attacks and single target abilities are breaking cloak.
So don't talk about no counters.
Detect Pots do need a visual effect. You have no idea when a detection potion is being used against you, and just get randomly detected with no idea why.2 -

There is so much cheez in this game with certain sets/builds/abilities that ALL have access to, and you die to them all the time. But God forbid someone use one of these sets/builds/abilities out of stealth....DELETE NB!!!!!
Reminds me of the drone strike argument....kill one dude with a drone and people are protesting in the streets, kill 30 with a B-1 bomber and <crickets> lol.
