UNDAUNTED NEEDS LOVE!

This is mostly my attempt to share ideas I’ve been having for a while about the Undaunted parts of the community that could be improved upon so anyone interested in giving feedback or sharing their ideas feel free to comment. Obviously as most veteran players know, the Undaunted sections of the game could really use some attention from the devs. I’ll just include some of my favorite ideas.

1. I’m still trying to figure out why some monster shoulder sets have only one shoulder while some have two.

This has puzzled me since beta where logically if you wanted to go the route of some off the sets have one, you would put it on the weak (shield) side since everyone in game is right handed or better yet just have all monster shoulder sets have both shoulders covered. It just doesn’t look right. Obviously this one is just for looks. And while I’m on that topic, the new monster arms sets have picked and chosen weapons to leave out. Why? Seems arbitrary to have only one two handed and one handed weapon skin each. Did artists run out of ideas? Easy fix ZOS. (Do I have to bring up shield dyes again?)

2. Dungeon drops are always bound except to group members.

I understand why ZOS made this decision but this also leaves a great opportunity for gains on their part. Everyone loves the events. An Undaunted event is a perfect time to start something new. My idea is that during an Undaunted event, group dungeon drops would be able to be traded or sold! Imagine the response from players who would gladly pay gold for that one item with the “perfect” trait they’ve been wanting but can’t find one their own despite all of the times they’ve been queued for a group. ZOS had the capability to change statuses of items just like old jewelry can’t be deconstructed.

3. Lastly, UNDAUNTED NEEDS AN ULTIMATE!

It’s been too long and new skill lines added with their own ultimates but Undaunted gets the short stick? It’s time to freshen things up! My idea would be something that screams dungeon diving like the trial passive abilities of slayer or aegis. Something like “While this is slotted, you and your group get minor slayer/aegis” depending on which morph you choose. This would allow variety and of course since it’s a group dungeon skill line ultimate, it would have a synergy.

That’s all I got for now. What do you guys think? Does Undaunted need love? Leave a comment and share ideas. Maybe ZOS will get motivated enough to do something. Thanks for reading!

    I agree with the last part. Would love to see an Ultimate in Undaunted Skill Line.

    Some nice ideas!

    I do confess a pure hatred for 'helps only your group' instead of 'helps nearby allies'. I totally boycott the former (Earthgore, Winter's Respite, Barrier. . . ). I can understand the complexity, even irritation of something like the perk from ebon armory (boosts heath for group) but most of such perks are easy to allow for help to nearby allies (like Earthgore and Winter's Respite and Barrier used to do). Though I run dungeons, I do more healing ungrouped than grouped (WBs, dragons, even public dungeons etc).

    I'd like to see the Undaunted dailiy quests expanded. Give more than 15 of the alliance zone delves to Bolgrul for delve dailies.

    Add another daily quest giver who assigns alliance zone WB dailies. Quite a few of the DLC have WB dailies and the Undaunted would be the perfect place to incorporate alliance zone WB dailies.

    I don't agree with the first two parts, and ESO has been pretty committed to not changing cosmetics unless they are bugged.

    Some skills with "while this is slotted" have been losing that effect in favor of more active mechanics. But something with Minor Slayer/Aegis is a great idea. Relevant but not overpowered. What role currently needs an ult the most? Maybe help tanks and healers from off-meta classes?

    All the Undaunted skills offer or are based around a synergy, so that should probly be kept in mind when thinking of ult for the skill line. A cheap (75-90) ult with a synergy could be cool.

    The ult could be like reading a scroll of ferocity or something? Like the scrolls that activate dungeon hard modes

    The skill line could also maybe use a passive related to drinks, since drinks have been nerfed for benefitting from 2 whole sets : p

    What we need is an emote with sound to sing the undaunted induction song/speech.

    It's so cringe it's epic.

    If this is done, I'll never have to log into my tank nor healer again, other than to run scheduled Trials with my guild. Less tanks and healers in queue - because people are buying sets out of zone chat - means people wait far longer in queue, and then we also get really unprepared/unskilled fake tanks and fake heals. Not all fake tanks and fake heals are bad, but this change would certainly encourage more people to move to that instead of raising a new tank or new healer.

    Not every single skill tree needs an Ultimate just to have an Ultimate. No to the Slayer and Aegis being a passive buff for having an ult on the bar, and no thank you to just having another Ultimate for the sake of having another Ultimate. Having more choices available doesn't always mean having more choices in practice. If it's a garbage Ultimate only created to satiate the people that want it, there will be some people that run a garbage Ultimate and they will get bagged on for it until they switch or complain on the forums about elitism.

    I don't know if I agree with #2. I mean you see how much these undaunted style pages go for, and they don't even do anything. Imagine the market price for the dungeon-only flame staff du jour. If better access to that gear is what you're going for, perhaps adding weapons to the Golden is a better option. A fixed fair price available to everyone.

    I get that you want to only comment and shoot down ideas because you are bored. Anyone who complains about others ideas without offering their own is just whining. Instead of just typing lots of words that come down to “no”, how about say what your ideas for an Undaunted ult should be.
