Either that or just zerg balls running around slaughtering solo players who have no realistic chance to defend themselves.

This event is reminding me of why I hate Imperial City so much and why it's the most unpopular zone in the game. It's beyond stupid and boring. I won't be able to say what I think of all these groups running around picking on solo players because it would get me banned. But let's just say I don't approve.

I was going to try and at least do the four dailies during this event. But honestly I"m not even sure if I can stomach just doing four of them. I may just do the dungeon once a day and call it a day. When PvP turns into just a numbers game it's just lame and anything but fun. Just make sure you deposit what ever currency you get so at least they don't get anything when they gang up on you like _____.

This is why I ran all 6* Imp City Dailies just before the the Event started this morning. So I don't have to fight the Zergs + NBs + Lag.
I can just turn in a different Daily for at least 6 days without hassle.

When I have the time, I find the tankiest cheese build I can get to make myself extremely hard to kill without a zerg and then make sure to empty my tel var into bank. I waste as much time for them as possible and when I eventually die they get almost nothing from me. It's spiteful and silly but sometimes it makes me feel better. The rest of the time I just go and run the dungeon once a day to get my tickets.

I've never been a fan of game modes that mix pve and pvp together, IC is no exception. I wouldn't mind the constant dying as much if we had better dedicated spawns that didn't involve multiple load screens. Still takes less time to get back to what you were doing than if you get ganked in Cyro doing town quests so there is that I guess.

Don't have to be insightful to have a little sympathy with pvp newbies who are forced to get killed in IC only to get event tickets.

It felt sad, so left IC and returned to Cyro where this one usually gets killed, but not without a proud meow :)

If you're really in the mood to be "spiteful and silly" (and I don't know about you but after getting zerged down a few times by a group of ______ it really puts me in that kind of mood) try this strategy if you play a tanky build. I did it earlier and ended up killing quite a few zerglings who were ganging up and bullying me while I was trying to do my quests. And I have to admit it gave me a good laugh.

Go grab one of those patrolling bosses and just let it follow you around while you keep yourself alive and kill the mobs. That way when they ambush you or try to jump you the boss kicks their ______. It was pretty hilarious to watch. Only drawback is the boss will attack any allies in the area who might try to jump in thinking they are helping you. So make sure you let them know what you are doing so you don't accidentally get them killed also.

This is why there are PvP events. Need to lure a population for PvP zones to pretend it's popular. Every forced PvP game is basically the same. Considering all the work they poured into the upcoming AoE test, it is clearly far more cost to support it than it's worth.

Join a server thats predominantly your faction. Stick to areas held by your faction and follow larger groups of players in your faction. Problem solved.

I went into Imperial City late this morning and was able to come out with 5k Tel Var in a manner of maybe 10-20 minutes max by following those rules I listed above.
    Penniless Sellsword Company
    Captain Paramount Jorrhaq Vhent
Korith Eaglecry - Laerinel Rhaev - Enrerion - Caius Berilius - Seylina Ithvala - Signa Squallrider - H'Vak the Grimjawl
    Yynril Rothvani - Tenarei Rhaev - Bathes-In-Coin - Dazsh Ro Khar - Aredyhel - Reads-To-Frogs - Azjani Ma'Les
Kheshna gra-Gharbuk - Gallisten Bondurant - Aban Shahid Bakr - Etain Maquier - Atsu Kalame - Faulpia Severinus

And this is why I've been running lowbie guild members and new players through wgt all day, and probably will for a few days yet---but, players like this need to be careful, because eventually those newbies will organize like last year, and the salt shaker will change hands quite quickly.

Cool, nice initiative helping the new ones :)

A correction: I wrote above that newbies were "forced" to play pvp, but forgot the pve option. Though I remember the IC dungeons from when they were released, so not sure if getting killed as a noob there today, (in front of impatient group members) is better than being ganked or zerged in pvp.

I do both, snipe and brawl. If I see a zerg, I feel an irresistible urge to attack it, alone. My shrink is not sure what's that about.

They're a joke (the dungeons), and you only need to run normal for the tickets which is easily soloed nowadays.

The thing about the IC event is how it brings the place to life. Its great to see it populated, sporadic grouping and temporary alliances, to see it becoming what it was always intended to be, and how it was when first released. Its always a shame to see it return to the ghost town afterwards and watch as interest fades away from it. It would be nice if during the short window of the event where people new to the content are taking their first steps into it, regulars didn't give them a reason not to return. I wonder what impact that would have for the pvp population ultimately...
