Make ignore list bigger.

I pretty much only ignore people as part of the automatic ignore when you report something someone has said. Even so my list is now full. I don't even know which people I ignored for what reasons. Probably most of the accounts on there are suspended due to what they were saying in zone chat or inactive because trolling got boring but since the accounts aren't removed from the list when action is taken I don't know who is safe to remove and who isn't.

I would like to see three things:

    - Size of list increased
    - List sorted by date ignored or at least display date ignored, so I know which ones are the oldest (and therefore safe to remove)
    - Automatical removal of accounts when the accounts are banned/suspended.

If I ignore one player I usually end up ignoring a few more at the same time. A couple of nights ago there was a player spamming the zone with how great and wonderful a certain world leader is. Was easy to see he was looking for attention and wow did he get it. Doesn't do any good to just ignore the one person without ignoring the players that continue to respond. Usually I go to another zone for a while but was there for something specific. So I ignored six or seven people then about an hour later removed them from ignore. Problem solved and plenty of room next time I need to ignore.
and then the parrot said, "must be the water mines green too."

Just because you want to filter away to obnoxious ones doesnt mean you also want to filter out all the players commiting themselves to decent behavior... If you spent time in zone chat everyday you can very quicky reach 100 on the ignore list. There's a lot of players and a lot of them will at times write offensive things. Me personally I dont care at all about what people say, I dont get offended about anything thankfully; but if I did I can certainly understand why someone can quickly reach 100 ignores.

That's absurd. Zone chat isn't as bad as people make it out to be, at least in NA PC. Yeah you get the weirdos and I can see why you would block 1 or 2 people for spamming or being offensive once in a while but come on more than 100 people? I don't even meet the same spammer / offensive edge Lord when I come back to a zone I found them in.

Treat the block button like you would treat storing items in your bank and save it for the most important things. Unless you are bad at managing inventory space.

I want a bigger ignore list because over the years of playing, I have had to place rude/racist/improper/not nice people on it. I come across it a lot. Instead of arguing in chat about how the tank said "You're a piece of *** dps. go kill yourself" I report and ignore*. Then I place a note to NEVER remove them from my list. I do this so I don't have to deal with this type of toxicity in my life. I still come across more than enough people to still have this an MMO. My list is full of spammers, racist people, a-holes like that tank. I want more room to add more people so I don't have to tolerate that. It's what the list is for. But since I want a bigger list for more people to place on it, I have the problem? I need to look at myself for wanting a larger space to place the people I never want to deal with again? No. I don't think so. Bigger list is needed and a lot of people agree with me.

    *
This happens a lot more than people are willing to admit. Every sessions I log onto and run dungeons with, there is always at least one who thinks/talks/acts like this. I used to just let it go, but after running into the same people over and over again, I started ignoring. Now it's time for a bigger list.

    two simple options (really)

    offline
turn General (or any other channel) off

if the number you need to hide is that high

much as I would love an ignore list of "server pop. -1", just in case, or even an invert option to allow only friends!

Frankly, yes. You have to look at it and ask yourself if you're really running into that many outrageous people who are still around, or have you taken it so far that you have found yourself attempting the virtual form of living in a plastic bubble.

While understandable with racists and the like, you could still remove them after some time. You probably won't see them again anyway. I rarely see the same names in zone chat.

I don't understand how people fill up there ignore list. I've been playing since BETA and only had to use my ignore list about 5 times. Are people just soft, unhinged and insecure nowadays when it comes to communication?

Does the game still automatically add people who get reported to the ignore list? So, if you report a player in the game for any reason (bots, cheating, whatever) they get added to the ignore list?

WOW ,how hated you should be to ask for endless ignore list !
hate has one thing in common with love , they have to think about you ... you will be a part of their mind whenever they go to bed. so let them hate you but dont hate back, just troll them .
I might be in many ignore lists but I only have 3-4 on mine and I dont even remember why !
there are times that I allow my rage to take control but then I remember its just a (messed up buggy) game, just have fun (if the lag allows you to) .

Well, for me it's not about being hated. I'm Russian and as you probably know, there's a lot of Russians playing on EU server. I just block any of them who post something nationalistic, sexist or racist because I don't want to read this kind of crap in zone chat. I love Russian language but sometimes it's better to not understand it.

I'm curious what people are doing that makes you feel you have to ignore them.

I'm easily irritated, yet I don't have anyone on my ignore list. I just mentally ignore people who irritate me, as they usually aren't around that long anyway. On the rare occasions that I do ignore someone, I remove them later that same day.

Guild recruitment spam doesn't bother me either, unless they are spamming multiple times in a row. In fact, I like to see them. You never know when a guild you are interested in may come along.

Life is too short to put up with other peoples' bs. Too many flat out nasty people across the internet, including in ESO. I simply don't want to see it. I am perfectly capable of handling it, but why should I have to?

All in the title. I am having to remove people from my list to add new ones. What is the point of having an ignore list if I am forced to remove people from them to add new ones? At least make it hold 500 names. That would be better.

Sad how this even is a serious request. I used to have maybe 2-3 people on actual ignore list in the first 4 years of playing this game...

And you know what? I actually agree with you. The community has gone to literal poop lately. 🙁🙁🙁🙁

    lol, I bet.

That alone would probably average you at least 1 name daily - which means if you play the game for over 2 years your list would be full.

To all these people mystified as to why someone would need a larger ignore list. We must play different games. Rarely do I ever play this game - especially if I pug dungeons or do PvP for any significant amount of time - that I don't encounter at least one person who is worthy of being ignored.

This game (and to be fair probably every other online game) has no shortage of obnoxious or cruel players. 500 people over the span of what.... 6 years this game has been out now?.... really isn't that difficult to believe. At all.

And then there are those who like to talk politics in zone chat. That alone could probably fill up your list in a couple of weeks.

I think what would really help was if the ignore list showed the last logged in date, like the friends list.

Chances are most of those on your ignore list have left the game.

I think some players are just less tolerant of the nonsense that often goes on in zone chat. But 500 is a lot of players being ignored.

Could you try removing, say 10 or so of the people who have been ignored the longest every day? Because the odds are some of these people may not even be playing any more. And it's highly unlikely that you will continue to run into them everywhere you go. This could help open some spots for you.

I have about 25 names on my list (I just checked) but it takes an awful lot for me to put someone on my list. You have to really, really be begging for it or just catch me when I"m in a really bad mood. So you can probably multiple that number by a factor of 100 to find out the real amount of people who probably deserved it.

    True.

I rarely PvP on this game that I don't get at least one person accusing me of cheating or telling me to go die. I could have easily filled up my ignore list on those players alone.

I'll ignore people if they're spamming zone chat with political, sexual, or conspiratorial garbage, but I eventually (several days later) clear out my ignore list. If the same people start spamming zone chat with garbage again, they'll just get added back to my ignore list for a while, but I'm not going to leave a bunch of names on my list when it's possible that sooner or later many of them will be gone from the game for one reason or another.

I can understand why there's a limit, because surely each account's ignore list must take up server space, so an infinite list is probably out of the question, not to mention it might be impossible to implement within a database.

Might as well remove the chat feature if you really want to be ahead of the game.
