Public dungeons farming is unsatisfying

I have a feeling like public dungeons are not really rewarding enough after first clear.

You go there once for story and a skill point, then, at best, farm a bit motif/collectible fragments if it's DLC, but drop rate is sooooo bad so you just say "heck it" and buy the rest. And loot is never doubled or no additional loot added during zone event like on delve and overland bosses, even no tickets. And there are no dailies for them.
Some have antiquities leads, but that's 10 out of 26 if I'm counting correctly.

There's just nothing to go back to. For base game it's 100% nothing, for Sunhold, Forgotten Wastes and Rkindaleft there's like 95% nothing and 5% frustration of fragments/pages not dropping.

Am I missing something? Am I being greedy? Am I just frustrated by farming Orcrest until my inventory was full of decon stuff but having 1 (one) piece of plague-drenched fabric?

P.S. And drop cooldown on bosses is annoying. I totally understand why it's here, but it's annoying.

To be fair some of the layouts are so contrived that I am more than happy to grab my skill point, sky shard and achievements and never set foot back in them again! I do wish there was more incentive to going back through them but most of the overland equipment in this game just isn’t worth farming.

I’m with you on the drop rates though. I’m still farming for that dwemer pet in Vvardenfell. I’ve spent probably 12 hours in the dungeon running loop after loop and still missing pieces for that pet. It’s maddening.

I personally love the design of the new dwarven public dungeon in western Skyrim. The other ones closer together with so many mobs just give me overload. N—- whatever is downright peaceful in comparison. And urns to loot to your heart’s content (or at least until the hidden container limit).

Is farming any contend really satisfying? Of course not. The content many of us enjoy repeating is group content and it is because we enjoy the group we are running with and/or we enjoy improving our scores.

There is a cool down on things like Motifs. Basically, if you find one or a chapter, you will not find another for some period of time. Recipes and other loot will still be there. How long is the cool down, i have heard anywhere from 20 minutes to the next time you log to the character and enter the dungeon, of course waiting some unknown time between relogs.

Boss Loot timers are 5 minutes, so don't kill them too quick in succession or you get normal mob loot.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

The Mages Guild incorporate 15 public dungeons into their dailies.

I like public dungeons okay. My main complaint is they tend to be too crowded and the respawn rate for mobs is so fast that you can barely pick up the loot and take a breath before they respawn right on your head again. Hard to get a moment or two to check the map of even unlock a chest without the mobs you just killed attacking you again. Induces a pressure to rush and I quite don't like that.

Oh, totally forgot about those. It's been so long since I farmed all there was to farm from guilds dailies. Btw motif drop from them wasn't particularly nice too.

It is, when drop is good. That feeling when you get one of the missing fragments, or a rare fish, or a piece of gear with nice trait is really pleasant.

Nchuthnkarst is nice, true, but it's still rather fresh and there are, what, two leads in addition to other loot?

Yes, there is a hard stop after you have looted a certain number of containers within a certain time. After that, all containers you find will be empty for a while. It is very noticeable.

There's just so much to do in this game that I'm glad I don't need to go back.

Regardless, dailies make you revisit dungeons/delves/dolmens... Or just do them again for fun.

I don't get why people need so much extrinsic motivation to do sth. If you want to do dungeons again do them. OP listed like 5 reasons to redo old dungeons anyway.
