What's the deal with stadia?

if i link my eso account to stadia i can play on stadia? (never mind why i would or wouldnt want to do that) is that all there is to it or do i have to buy the base game all over again?

Hello @thissocalledflower, in order to play ESO on Stadia, a purchase of the base game on Stadia is required unless you have Stadio Pro, in which case it's free. You will need to link your ESO and Stadia to play with your PC account.

After reading this... I suppose my follow up question for this thread is whether, using Stadia Pro, you can link an existing ESO account to Stadia and play either way... through the normal PC launcher and client, or through Stadia, on the same account, which ever one you want to play at the time.

Yes, you can play from either the ESO launcher on PC or on Stadia and your progress will be retained. This article explains more about Stadia and ESO.
