Patches and gold weapons & armor destruction

I don’t have a problem with the more or less constant change in this game or others... but why not at least compensate for this a little bit by giving back half of the respective temper/tannin/resin used for the weapon or armor when we inevitably destroy a nerfed set. I destroyed a gold weapon and got... nothing. At the very least that shouldn’t happen. People golding armor/weapons is good for the in-game economy, keep it great by giving back half our gold mats (or at the very least a guaranteed 1 or 2)!

✭✭You knowingly accept the risk that the gear you gold may become less useful down the line. No set is king forever. Asking for compensation when changes occur is silly and unrealistic.
Also why are you breaking down sets you golded? Just because it is less useful in the current patch?There is every chance that further changes down the line will bring the set back to usefulness. It has happened before.2 -

✭✭✭✭✭@shimm I think that is a wonderful idea! I don't chase after sets but once in awhile do find it necessary to replace a set and try to save some inventory space. Recovering about half your golds when deconstructing gold gear sounds both welcome and reasonable.PC NA(no Steam), PvE, mostly solo2 -

✭✭Just store the gear on in an alt's inventory you should not be deconing gold gear unless you have absolutely no possible storage space left. Especially stuff that is hard to farm or you went through the trouble to retrait.
You never know they might buff or even rework the set in a future patch, why create the work for yourself of having to buy or farm the set all over again.0 -

I wouldn't expect 'compensation' for changes to gear I chose to farm--that's kind of the nature of the beast here. I wouldn't expect 'compensation' for changes to gear I chose to farm--that's kind of the nature of the beast here. However, a simple token gesture like I mention wouldn't go amiss given the frequency and weight of changes.
We get little bundles every day, @mairwen85 ... they're called the login rewards.

shimm✭✭✭✭✭Compensation was a poor choice of words, I didn’t mean for it to sound like the many “compensate us for the lag, downtime, my childhood”, etc threads that are everywhere... although it’s amusing to see posters policing for Zeni against “handouts”. I just feel that, particularly with gold items, we should always get back at least one of the gold mats - it shouldn’t return none.2
