What's bugged is the ability to pour whatever you poured and the prompt to do so. So at 5% health,after he goes into the center he respawns, because you don't pour. It was COMPLETELY WEIRD that someone who finished the ENTIRE main quest, was still getting the prompt to pour and was able to do so. For that, on his part, I am EXTREMELY GRATEFUL.
