In Oblivion, my (totally average) female Bosmer was of pretty regular height, she didn't stick out in any context, while my (totally average) male Bosmer was tiny. And as someone else mentioned, in The Shivering Isles both Dark Seducer and Golden Saint females towered over the males; at least the Aureal males were based on Bosmer models, so it made sense.
Nowadays whenever I make a Bosmer char, I tend to make the females very tall and the males very short tpo enhance this.

So ... it's been that way at least back to Oblivion (someone mentioned Skyrim). Have nothing to compare for the games before that because I didn't play Bosmer from Arena to Morrowind.

I'd like the ability to make bosmer females shorter to give the more ohmes feel for my ohmes characters.

I didn’t realize that. I didn’t know a lot about Bosmer before ESO, only knew them as shorter stealthy archers. (I played Morrowind most and only a bit of the games since then.) It seems weird to me that there would even be a height difference (when there is not in other mer) and so pronounced that my average height Bosmer female would still be taller than the tallest Bosmer male.

It's been this way since at least Morrowind, where Bosmer males had 0.9 to the females' 1.0 ratio.

Yeah it is kind of strange to see the females taller than the males, even if it is a fantasy setting, but this isn't the only game that does it. I think in DnD, the Drow males are shorter too, and weaker than females.

I had not realized that (hence why I searched out this thread) and certainly wouldn’t ask for a change against lore (on that note, return Bosmer stealth bonus!) but it seems it should apply across the range, or maybe the height range allowed by the slider is very small indeed, come to think of it. 🤔

Why do people make such a big deal about this??? Should I have started a new thread? Then people would have told me to use the search function. I’d like it if I could make my Male bosmer as tall as a Breton average height at least.

male bosmer are supposed to be tiny... if anything the female bosmer should be a bit taller.

Has anyone tried playing a Male bosmer at max height does it change your blade of woe kills? Are you still shorter then a average Breton or imperial?

Past elder scrolls I always play bosmer and Breton I loved that in Skyrim bosmer was the same height as everyone else.

Well there are some NPC bosmer that are just as tall as my high elf's (that have the silders on the tallest possible) Should just unlock the height tbh on all races if they are in game. if want to stick to lore you can, if you want your vestige to be a bit different why not.

The NPC is at the undaunted camp in Elden root, called Venomous Fauridil, deffo a bosmer and deffo tall

They are not short enough if you ask me. If there was a gnome race , i'd play it in a heartbeat
