Mistakenly buying items from Furnishings vendors when just trying to preview

I keep buying items I don't want!
What happens is I click the item for sale to preview it, and the next thing I know, it's in my bag! And if I try to sell the item back, I only get a very small percentage of the gold back!
It does show me a preview, so I don''t realize right away that I've purchased the item. I only eventually realize it when I get a message saying I don't have enough gold to purchase the item.
I don't click E to purchase, so how am I buying these?
And, please make it stop!

Kiyakotari✭✭✭✭✭Yes, this has happened to me when I was experiencing bag server lag and high latency. I've seen others complain about it, as well. The best theory seems to be that it's a result of the game having issues processing clicks when lag is bad, and then suddenly processing them in a lump so it registers as a double-click.2 -

✭✭✭✭✭While I would suggest being more careful, I am surprised we cannot sell back an item immediately after purchasing it for the full price we paid. In another game I have seen it where selling back an item within two hours provided a full refund.2 -

This makes sense because it doesn't happen every time I am shopping and previewing items. I agree with this 100%. Although I would be satisfied with even a 15 minute time frame, because by then I realized what happened and will not be out thousands of gold.PCNA1 -
Sharalei✭✭✭✭This kept happening to me a few months ago. I never used to happen. It did in fact turn out to be my mouse. It was old. Apparently, even though it didn't feel like a double click, it was registering as one.
So, I purchased a new mouse, and it's not happened since.
Try plugging in a cheap mouse, or second mouse you have laying around, visit the vendors and see how it goes.3 -

✭✭✭✭✭My mouse isn't that old and I haven't had any problems with it in any other situation. Also, it doesn't happen every time. I think it's more likely the lag issue others have mentioned.PCNA0 -

✭✭✭There should be a confirmation thing for purchases like this, as it is easy to click twice by accident, especially with lag.
I did it once with a writ voucher recipe, but fortunately I could resell that on the guild store.

While this would work, it would get annoying if we had to confirm every purchase we ever make. I think being able to sell the item back at full cost for a limited time as another poster suggested, is the best solution.

Update:
