Is it considered OK to try a group dungeon if you are quite above its level?

Hi,

I'm new to MMOs but a long time RPG player, so... Fact is, I have not completed some group dungeons which I felt were not according to my character's profile/role/etc. Now the toon is almost twice the dungeon's recomended level and my completionist side is starting to speak loud. My question is- Is it considered fair and polite to try one of them now?

    You can't sign up through the automatic finder, so you'll have to ask players if it's ok that you attend. -it's possible they will not get exp if you're there for example.

    If you want to try them solo then just go ahead ofcourse.

    Ah, OK, other people not getting their XP is certainly an issue, thanks. Have not considered that. So, its solo, it seems.

    mot necessarily. some players are always happy to have a high level character EZ-mode a dungeon for them ;) like doggie said just ask around: let people know and i;m sure you will get requests to join you.

    The kills inside a dungeon are worth nearly no xp anyway, so your level won't be an issue for that. And I don't think party members can affect quest xp.

    So the only possible negative is if someone wants the 'challenge' of doing it with all low level characters.

    Not much XP from kills at dungeons? I was not aware of that. Know very few things I do...

    So, it seems its solo or just grab a lute and keep playing it near the entrance of a low level dungeon. People eventually will ask for grouping if they feel its OK. Since level is shown over the toon...

    Yea people complain there isn't much to any xp in dungeons as is, so you'd probably be helping out lower level completionists. I imagine quite a few people just do them for the skill point/achievements and could give a crap about xp or even loot.

    Also, out leveling the dungeon will pretty much net you no loot. The only thing you will probably get out of it, is completion and scavenge loot (Other than the experience).

    Can I change my toon's name? Knows-Very-Few-Things seems more appropriate... Loot, well, unless its stuff I can deconstruct, care not much about it. Group dungeons, even if low level, probably are also free of farmer bots, am I right?

    The group dungeons give out skill points for completion iirc. Damn the loot and the XP, the skill point is enough.
