Mount Training QoL Request

ZOS will never make mount training account wide. There are various reasons for this, from having a gold sink, to making boosts available in the crown store, that they want each character to start the process afresh as a new character, and the simple fact that many people are already levelling their mounts across several characters. So, in the absence of that being plausible, can we at least allow for in-game gold purchase of x days in advance as an option along side the daily purchase? Cool-downs still apply, of course, so purchasing 10 days' training has the gold cost x10 plus a 10x longer cool-down than the daily.

They can simply remove the cooldown at this point IMO. Newer players won't be able to have the gold to fully max out all their mounts in one go - meaning they'll still have to play the game, whereas long-time players who have a huge stock of gold and not much to spend it on could basically finish their mount shortly after creation.

Seems like a fair compromise. I really don't like the "easy" solution of simply buying research books for crowns.

    Probably not, sadly.

ZOS gets their riding lesson sales for a couple reasons. Its a three-prong attack.
    A. The time-gate. Even every day players have to wait 60 to 180 days.
    B. The frustration of being slow/squishy/inventory management while you progress.
    C. If you don't log in every day, you don't progress with your mount. Intermittent players make very slow progress.

Your suggestion keeps A. as a reason to buy lessons but alleviates some of the frustration in chunks, making it that much more manageable, and thus less likely for players to give in and buy riding lessons. Worst of all for ZOS, it means that intermittent players could purchase chunks of progress each time they log in, allowing them to catch up without having to drop Crowns on riding lessons or waiting to log in every day.

Quueing mount training would defeat the purpose of getting players to log in.... both the mount training and daily rewards are incentives for players to keep logging in.

But you don't need both of them. The incentive to login for daily rewards covers all my characters in one action. Mount training I have to go through every character. That's not incentive to log in, but to cycle alts and logout when done.

They should let us train each character on any character so you don't have to log on and off a dozen times.

wait what? the gold cost for leveling mounts is negligible. ive been flat broke in the past and still never had the problem of not having enough gold to level my mount lol, its like one day of farming worth of gold to full max a horse

First of all we are not training our mounts as it was when we started. More importantly, Zos sells training in the crown store. I think it is obvious Zos will not give up that revenue and since people buy it then I see no reason for them to consider it.

I get that. Essentially we aren't training the mount but training the character, understood. I also appreciate ZOS sells training in the store for crowns. I am not asking for them to stop doing that, and I acknowledge and accept all of those reasons as justification for not making it account-wide. With my suggestion, it will still take 180 days to complete full training, the option to shorten that by crown purchase is still there, as is the gold overhead required--the only difference is that I can purchase several days in advance--ZOS can even cap that to ensure they keep their pennies, e.g. 5-10 days max, whatever compromise. I also understand it's likely not going to happen, especially as it would appear the majority of forum-goers are happy to accept whatever reasoning ZOS wants to put out there, however detrimental to player experience it may be.
