It's because we're no longer leveling the animal, but training the characters. So each one has to go through it.

Also because they sell Mount training scrolls in the cash shop, you will never account-wide implemented in-game.
Being First is not the prize, it just mean's everyone can stab you in the back.

Levelling your mount is one of the most annoying things in the game. So +1 on being account wide, but ZOS makes money by selling scrolls. So it's not gonna happen.

I dont mind levelling per character - but I do mind having to logon every day for every characrter to do it.
One of the most tedious time consuming things in the game if you like alts (like me).

Just give the option to pay in advance for 10 days of mount training for 2500 gold.
Or 7 days. Or 30. Problem solved.

Exactly, I would be happy to pay 45k gold to have my mounts ready to go.

Yes i have all the alts that is possible to have on one account and i pvp so i'd need them to ride fast and i also work full time and have a personal life too, so if i were to train all of them, my eso gaming time would be, well, mostly staring the log in screen and log out screen for my toons. Needs improvement yes.

It's all about CS riding lessons. I suspect that's one of the largest cash cows for ZoS. If i had £1 for every time I have witnessed someone stood outside a stable popping umpteen red, green and blue books, I wouldn't be sat here typing this ***. I'd be sat on a yacht in the middle of the Med being hand fed grapes and surrounded by a bevvy of beauties.

    [snip]

i'm not slating ZoS, they need some sort of income to put back into the game and pay their staff and keep the money men happy, I simply don't think they're doing it for immersion or level playing field purposes.

That will never happen because of crown store. I'm not against it though.
Maybe as a more reasonable approach, they could make it so you can buy 1 point in each stat per day. It would reduce the time it takes to max your mount to 60 days down from 180 days.
But they'll probably never do that either :|

I'd love this as the amount of time it takes to fully train up a mount on a new character is ridiculous. The logging in to all characters for it is tedious as well, especially with loading times. It'll never happen though due to the crown store.

One improvement they could make is stop with the 20 hour cool down and instead make it reset like any other daily. We should be able to log in at any time during the day and train it.

I wouldn't mind it being account wide. Alternatively, I'd like to see where you could level each of the three aspects once a day. That would at least cut things from 180 to 60 days.

It that ever happen you'll have to buy it from the Crown Store (assuming you have riding maxed out on one character), like you can do for skyshards and skill lines.

    No, it shouldn't.

But they should let us train each stat every day to cut the leveling time by 3 for the impatient people.

    No.

Instead, get rid of training completely and give mounts a 60/60 in speed and stamina.

Move the bag space to the bag merchant, with a horse mount bag costing 15K (250 x 60).

This outdated concept trying to get people to log in daily is just pathetic.

Well, that "outdated" concept is spreading to more and more genres of games, so good luck on that.

Finally, someone agrees with me on that  !

If CPs are to remain account-wide then at least have them only able to be activated at level 50 - that in itself would assist with all the "it's too easy" complaints.

No one tell them about the days where each mount had to be trained individually, per character, and you could only assign one point per day between them all. You also had a limited number of points to spend in each mount. Maybe they will make training account wide.

I will never understand how ESO players defend this boring repetitive process of leveling mounts. And don’t throw out that weak defense, “ I suffered through it do you should too!”

If you have the funds you should just be able to spend the gold to level up as needed without waiting a day between.

You have not lived the days when each mount of each character had to be trained and could only use one aspect (strength etc) to maximum. The way its now its luxury^^ and luxury enough.
The Game has gotten easy enough, if you have nothing to achieve, nothing to be proud of to have reached, then you don't need to play the game. And you don't want to play it anymore.

You've answered the question in the first paragraph with the comment in the second paragraph. Progressing in a game intended to be played for years, not weeks or even months, shouldn't be based on spending gold (or crowns) and up you go.

I just think the process is too long at 6 months to fully upgrade the horse.

A happy medium would be to be able to put one point in EACH stat per day per character.

That would drop the process down to 60 days, make sure you still log in to do it, AND still have the option to buy the scrolls in the store. Everyone is happy.

Never gonna happen. ESO is a business...and mount training is a cash cow (I know because feed it). That's like telling a gas company you should get a discount on all future purchases of gas because you filled up your tank once.

If you don't want to pay the price, relax. Time passes whether you like it or not...and so will your mount upgrades.

It’s the speed of a mount. It’s not game breaking to allow for mounts to be leveled faster. It just creates dull boring content that becomes a chore. I’m all for long term content. But, make it fun and enjoyable. Mount training once a day is not either of those things. It’s a cheap cash grab for the crown store. Nothing else.

Eh if this is ZOS and the player bases idea of character building then I disagree. It’s a boring and chore like activity.

    Shoulda coulda woulda but didn't.

I guess people actually buy those mount scrolls....the crown store couldn't tempt me with that garbage unless there was a 1 scroll to max horse stats....and even then it would have to be cheap.

People here talk about the crown store as if its pay-to-win, but that couldn't be further from the truth...I have played true pay-to-win games where the only people who become top-tier are those who spend $30,000 to $50,000 on the game(yes....people really paid that much to be the best). As a free player, there were still some ways to hurt players like that, but you had to be good and imaginative(and usually have the help of another whale).

What I learned from playing games like that(usually RTS games) is that there are really only a few whales...99.9% of the playerbase is somewhere between free to play and moderate spenders(IE, they spend maybe $50 a month or so). The crown store caters to those few whales.....its not targeted toward the other 99.9%. If they get some sales from moderate spenders, all well and good, but their real customer base is much smaller.

People in ESO don't realize how lucky they are...the crown store is just a bunch of cosmetic garbage and a few QOL things, nothing that makes any difference whatsoever in-game. After the initial purchase, you can play this game completely free and be top-tier if your skill is there.
