cooldown for golden leads

What are your experiences with the drop of golden leads? Is there a cooldown of 1, 2,... hours until another golden lead drops?
I was opening dozens of chests and didn't get one after I found another one before. But after a break of some hours, the lead dropped in the second chest.^^
What do you think, how long the cooldown is?

There is no cooldown. See the Coldharbour Anomaly Lead as evidence.

    No cooldown.

If you believe in urban myths, however, switch to another character to farm the next golden lead.

No cooldown, once I got two leads to wild hunt within few minutes of what a port to the other zone and killing a wb took.

Yes, as soon as I dig one up, I seem to get another lead.

I have 4 of them and a lead for another one that Im just sitting on because I dont want another one.....

As of now I have around 30 of that furnishing in my bank. I think this lead is for getting the skill up to 10 from 7 because it gives 10 points each time you dig it up and without that the grind from 7 to 10 would be a serious nightmare.

    I'll second this.

I've gotten multiple golden leads before in the spam of 15~20 minutes before. The "cool down" is a myth.

It SEEMS as though different leads have different drop rates. For example, the Void Crystal Anomaly gold lead is notoriously easy to farm; whereas there are people who've killed 300+ gryphons and haven't seen the Prismatic Sunbird Feather lead.

While normally I would simply chalk this up to the RNG, the Anomaly lead seems to drop easily for everyone, and the Feather lead seems to be significantly less common for everyone for it to simply be randomly determined. In my opinion, there has to be a "rarity factor" that gets applied somewhere in the calculation of the lead the drop rates.

I do like the Coldharbor Crystal Anomaly - especially since the housing "Antiquities" contest that @JHartEllis put on; someone made... well sort of a giant hedgehog out of it.

    Take a look here:

    https://spicyeconomics.com/an-unique-antiquity/

You do have to scroll down a bit to see a pic of it
Tenesi Faryon of Telvanni - Dunmer Sorceress who deliberately sought sacrifice into Cold Harbor to rescue her beloved.
Hisa Ni Caemaire - Altmer Sorceress, member of the Order Draconis and Adept of the House of Dibella.
Broken Branch Toothmaul - goblin (for my goblin characters, I use either orsimer or bosmer templates) Templar, member of the Order Draconis and persistently unskilled pickpocket
Mol gro Durga - Orsimer Socerer/Battlemage who died the first time when the Nibenay Valley chapterhouse of the Order Draconis was destroyed, then went back to Cold Harbor to rescue his second/partner who was still captive. He overestimated his resistance to the hopelessness of Oblivion, about to give up, and looked up to see the golden glow of atherius surrounding a beautiful young woman who extended her hand to him and said "I can help you". He carried Fianna Kingsley out of Cold Harbor on his shoulder. He carried Alvard Stower under one arm. He also irritated the Prophet who had intended the portal for only Mol and Lyris.
    ***
Order Draconis - well c'mon there has to be some explanation for all those dragon tattoos.
House of Dibella - If you have ever seen or read "Memoirs of a Geisha" that's just the beginning...
Nibenay Valley Chapterhouse - Where now stands only desolate ground and a dolmen there once was a thriving community supporting one of the major chapterhouses of the Order Draconis

I tested the lead drops again. There maybe no hard cool down, but the drop ratio is noticeable lower. I suppose the probability of a drop is reduced after a drop before. E.g. if the probability is 0.2% it gets reduced to 0.05%. That way a new lead can drop soon again, but the chances are much lower. This would be dynamic and simple. The way I would design a grind game.^^
