Crouched in a field a lone five star NB who never learned another play style waits for his opportunity. He’s trained his whole life for this moment. That CP 120 player on his mount never stood a chance. “Good duel” he whispered under his breath.

I actually do enjoy it sometimes, but it's not the only character or playstyle I enjoy. I think it's amusing that people want PvP to be fair. It's not. Snipers are engaging in asymmetric warfare.

i love using snipe in pve against bosses that kill up close such as dragons. There is nothing you can do about it accept snipe them back. They can't nerf every skill that is effective or commonly used in pvp or else there won't be anything left to use.

Fortunately, I spend about 95% of my time in Cyrodiil with a speedy NB build. So not much sniping for me.

But I did get sniped several times with my stamsorc.

To be honest, I'm more sick of the complaints around snipe than I am of the skill itself.

I don't use it but it rarely causes me a problem.

Or if they get seen and killed, they come to the forums and claim said players are cheating...

Idk if they enjoy sniping in particular but I'd imagine they enjoy killing peeps and are likely amused by these rage posts. I think these threads only raise awareness to specific play styles that are effective and annoying and creates more of the very thing you despise... Think I'll go work on my stam builds for... unrelated reasons.

My sniper is my most played PvP character. I do have a pure snipe build that I sometimes use, but just sniping gets boring for me. Over time I have changed my builds a lot, while I still use snipe on my main build (it's a solid skill), it's evolved to include traps and a bunch of other skills that I use just as often. Currently it's bordering a hybrid build which somehow works. For keep fights I tend to snipe a lot because it's really good there, along with traps for kill zones since fearing players under the oil never gets old. In open field or in close quarters I use other skills with the occasional snipe thrown in.

Or I just run with my speed/sneak build and burn sieges and camps.

Variety is more fun in the long run, sniping has it's place, and it's fun to annoy people with the occasional gank, but it's even more fun to make 5+ ppl chase and find you when you're not even trying to attack them. Or be a useful part of a small scale group. Or snipe snipers which is totally a thing, you'd be amazed at how much snipers attack each other. And nb vs nb, 1v1, is by far my favorite type of PvP, it just has a different feel to it compared to all other types of PvP.

Sniping, ambush and guerilla warfare are normal practices in war (and other games as well), I don't see why they shouldn't be valid in ESO. I don't PvP a lot, I've been sniped, ganked etc. Sure, it's annoying at times, just move on. and no, I'm not supporting my favored playstyle before anyone says so. Usually I scout, so I'm charging across the landscape like a complete nutter.

Ooor, we could always play PvP the way old armies used to.. arrange yerselves into square formations and walk towards each other

You complain about Snipe ? lol

Snipe has a cast time, is relatively slow, you can hear it coming and its dodgeable.

Anyone that gets caught out by snipe is either inexperienced, careless, doesn't have the right build for PVP or has reflex and co-ordination problems.

    you want to complain ?

how about 15+ players chasing down an under levelled solo player, then t-bagging ?

how about pvp 'leets destroying pve questers during events ?

how about tanks that can somehow do more damage than a damage build and sustain more than a sustain build ?

how about 'ball' groups that are impossible to get out of your keep unless your faction co-ordinates?

how about resource tower/bridge ap farmers ?

    how about the 'Hammer' ?

how about cheaters and exploiters ?

    etc etc etc

I hate it, I wouldn't mind if when I HEAR it coming I can dodge before the lag hits and I drop dead after being hit with 5 in one second

Yes. Sniping is great fun in cyrodil.

As its said above, if dodgeable and if you get caught. Well you pay the consequences.

Like RP'ers, some of us like a certain type of play in cyrodil and i enjoy lurking in the shadows killing unsuspecting victims.

Not everything in cyrodil is about dancing around rocks or towers then claiming how good of a 1 v X'er they are.

Snipers are part of war. It contributes to diversity and makes the game unpredictable. If you like the RPG of thievery and assassination, it's natural to also enjoy sniping.

That said, I've always played a stamblade in PvP, since 2014/15. Sniping is often boring because you have to wait for the right target. 95% of the time I end up taking flags inside keeps, in glass canon sniper gear. The few times I snipe from a distance in open world, I occasionally get hate in chat for that, which is prejudice, since this one is usually a loser of a brawler in or near keeps.

I also play non-cp btw. Interestingly, I almost never get sniped myself in open world, so have never experienced personally that sniping is a problem.

Try spam sniping a sorc, dk, templar or warden. That's boring. They (almost) never die. And I got some of the best sniper gear... Then I feel sorry for myself and wish I was a DK.

Playing bow with occasional lethal arrow casts, but each time i see some tree licking sustain tryhard, i swap gear for NMA + Spriggan and wait for him to pull 4+ people, then snipe spam him in the worst moment to generate uh oh u bad rage over next 10 minutes.

The one moment i do not like about snipers - most of them are pretty useless during sieges or defence - its easy to see 5 people actually sieging and 10 cats with bows sitting in crouch behind waiting for some random player to appear on the keep wall. Ah and top#1 in my list of "i steal ur siege and gonna shoot players/trees, not vehicles" is a khajit bow nightblade.

    How to Cyro :

-Convert all attribute points to health
-Wear proc sets (the more the merrier)
    -Wear malacath's band
    -Spam light attacks
    -???
    -Be the god of 1vX

I don't understand the purpose of this post.

Should bows have no direct tracks other than light and heavy?

Bows have a hard time already, there are no real good Monster helm synergies for it. And are basically a backbar (if used at all) in trials. Nerfing the only real direct dps bows have is not the direction we should be going.

Nothing good as seeing some tryhard get sniped by a lowlife in the bushes. That's cyro 101. You may face 5 guys and keep them busy, but you should fear the bow[snip] in shadows for they are always watching and deciding who will survive and who will be fed to their arrows.

Annoying yes, but fun to get sniped sometimes.
