Lightning Splash/Flood/Liquid Duration Bug (missing last tick)

Currently on both PTS and live servers, this skill and its morphs end before dealing the final tick of damage. Here is an example with Lightning Flood:
image.png
This shows the skill starts at 2.1s and should therefore end at 12.1s (with an 11th tick), but instead the last tick of the DoT occurs only 9s after the first (at the 11.1s mark), and it only has 10 ticks total (unlike all the other 10s DoTs in the game that tick once per second). This means that in its current form, Lightning Flood should actually be recast every 9s to get its full potential.

To demonstrate how this skill should behave, I performed a similar test on another 10s AoE DoT, Wall of Elements.
image.png
This one shows the correct behavior, the final tick occurs 10s after the first tick (1s and 11s timestamps). This 10s DoT provides all 11 ticks of damage.

Similar results can be shown for the Liquid Lightning morph, which deals 14 ticks of damage, ending 13s after the initial tick instead of the stated 14s.

Elemental Blockade is also a 14s DoT, and is working correctly. It deals 15 ticks of damage total, and the final tick occurs 14s after the initial tick.

I believe this bug is one of the reasons why Lightning Splash is underperforming compared to other class DoTs (which do not experience this problem). For the entire Dragonhold patch, this iconic skill has proved to be a DPS loss for Sorcerers. The cost decrease on PTS is greatly appreciated, but please also give the skill its final tick of damage. Thanks!

Can confirm this happens on my magsorc as well. I stopped using lightning splash and its morph because of underperformance related to issues like this.

To further add to this argument:

    pk59req2zw5m.png

As you can see, a similar aoe skill, unnerving boneyard (necromancer class) also deals 11 ticks of damage. So why is flood not on the same standard?

Lightning flood is already horrendously weak and has virtually lost all utility in the game. Why is this?

Boneyard: Ability to self synergize one morph (useful for PvP and Lokkestiiz gear procs on stam), aoe major fracture/breach, ability to become empowered with consumption of a corpse (easy to do w/ proper siphoning management in a bb + archer rotation), counts towards the Death Knell passive and empowered by Rapid Rot, and can proc chilled. Also has a radius equal to lightning flood.

Spear shards: magic dmg, can proc various templar passives: burning light (lots of additional dmg) and Spear Wall for minor protection, synergy, VERY large radius iirc.

Twisting Path: Major Expedition, excellent dmg, cheaper compared to counterparts in other classes, rectangular area almost equal to flood and boneyard area (rectangular opens more options as well), downside is it's not as place-able, lasts longer than other class counterparts (class passive), also procs major ward/resolve giving a HUGE defensive increase.

Lightning flood: has a synergy (since boneyard has one it has essentially replaced lightning flood for proccing alkosh... not that the synergies are needed as much as they used to be anyways), can proc concussion, gets empowered *slightly* by Energized passive, and counts towards Expert Mage passive for more spell damage.

For petes sake, one of the morphs is there SPECIFICALLY TO GIVE IT A LARGER RADIUS, WHICH BONEYARD AND SPEAR SHARDS GET NATIVELY.

In all honesty, Expert Mage is inconsequential as slotting another sorc skill (like Bound Aegis) easily makes up for this and increases other sources of dmg, making Lightning Flood a poor choice. It is laughably weak and expensive, which prevents most from running it effectively.

It's sad that this class ability isn't worth slotting when boneyard and twisting path are so strong.

Give liquid morphs an 11th tick of damage please!

At the very least it makes it comparable. Imo (with current sorc identity as a strong direct dmg class... although @WrathOfInnos might be proving me wrong w/ the thaum game) it's still a bit too weak to slot unless you absolutely need alkosh.

I’m still only like 30% DoT / 70% Direct Damage on Sorc. It’s just that Exploiter becomes more efficient than Elemental Expert and Master at Arms with good off-balance uptimes. And Conduit isn’t needed for Alkosh, we had plenty of Alkosh uptime before the Necromancer was introduced, and we now have more Boneyards to synergize than we ever had Conduits.

I don’t want to derail much into CP’s and synergies though. This thread is about Liquid Lightning and Lightning Flood ending 1s earlier than they claim and losing the final tick of damage.

Any chance for a fix on these skill durations with Greymoor?

Also buff the skill while fixing it atm it is insanly weak comparison to other options. Feels just sad to have yet another sorc skill that cant even be used outside of roleplaying or playing as a sorc healer.

Still happening. One of these things is not like the others (and all are "10s" AoE class DoTs).
