I've opened up 952 crown crates. How do I get an Radiant apex drop?

XNativexPrideX
I know lots of people will think I'm crazy as heck. I agree! I spent enough money to get over 900 crown crates. I really wanted that Senche raht mount. But didn't get it.. I have over 10,000 crown gems now too. What is the RNG on the Radiant Mounts?

According to https://www.crowncrates.com/ , about 0.25% and pretty much only on the 5th bonus card if you get it.

I'm sorry that you have had to live through the painful lesson of "the house always wins".

There is a small chance that it might come round again for gems, I hope that will be the case so you can get it that way.
Tenesi Faryon of Telvanni - Dunmer Sorceress who deliberately sought sacrifice into Cold Harbor to rescue her beloved.
Hisa Ni Caemaire - Altmer Sorceress, member of the Order Draconis and Adept of the House of Dibella.
Broken Branch Toothmaul - goblin (for my goblin characters, I use either orsimer or bosmer templates) Templar, member of the Order Draconis and persistently unskilled pickpocket
Mol gro Durga - Orsimer Socerer/Battlemage who died the first time when the Nibenay Valley chapterhouse of the Order Draconis was destroyed, then went back to Cold Harbor to rescue his second/partner who was still captive. He overestimated his resistance to the hopelessness of Oblivion, about to give up, and looked up to see the golden glow of atherius surrounding a beautiful young woman who extended her hand to him and said "I can help you". He carried Fianna Kingsley out of Cold Harbor on his shoulder. He carried Alvard Stower under one arm. He also irritated the Prophet who had intended the portal for only Mol and Lyris.

Order Draconis - well c'mon there has to be some explanation for all those dragon tattoos.
House of Dibella - If you have ever seen or read "Memoirs of a Geisha" that's just the beginning...
Nibenay Valley Chapterhouse - Where now stands only desolate ground and a dolmen there once was a thriving community supporting one of the major chapterhouses of the Order Draconis

Sucks man. 950+ crates you'd think it'd happen. But it didn't.. I thought I'd eventually get a drop. So I kept on until I stopped at my limit for gaming for the year! Haha no more games or anything for a few years now. Well hopefully with the money I donated zos can fix the lag. Maybe even buy better servers!

With that many crates, you should convert all the Trash SWAG to Gems.

That is how I bought my Senche Raht, directly. With Gems.

Which is the only way to be assured of getting what you want from Crown Crates. It was on sale back during the release of Elsewyer, so I would imagine it will be so again during the Anniversary Event for that Zone.

Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

I was going for the Radiant one. I'm hoping they sell it then too. I have 10,000 gems now. Smh. If I sell my junk I'll probably be around 13k I am logged off now atm contemplating my mistake for trusting rngezus. Lol

If odds of a Radiant are 0.25%, that means 99.75% chance of a non-Radiant.

    .9975 ^ 952 = 0.092 = 9.2% chance of getting 952 non-Radiant in a row.

Bad luck? Yes. But it is like 1 in 11 that it will happen. It is not some seemingly impossible 1,000,000 to 1 odds.

i think u forgot that it only can drop on the bonus card (which isnt always there) so chance would be even lower

The 0.25% is total crates, aggregated from pc players using an add on. It's a little over 1% everytime you get the bonus card.

Well obviously crown crates are gambling, its just a legal loophole that the rewards aren't monetary that game casino's avoid the extra regulation.

Its even more profitable than a casino if you think about it, the house doesn't have to pay any money back ever ;P

EDIT: Remember years ago white knights that would argue that subscriptions or die would also argue that gambling crates weren't gambling? Funny days.

Also the cosmetics store in eso is an odd thing. Like swtor its a bit of a game in itself. I think the only healthy way to go near the crates is to assume that you're going to have to buy the thing you want in gems, work out how much real money its going to cost at 3 gems per crate, and just replace the price sticker on the thing with that and see how you feel. At least that way, all the surprises going forward will be positive for you rather than 900 crates. Also yeah there are some items you just cant have because of expense or availability.

I never go into the crates thinking about getting a mount, an I never bought more than 45 crates of one season (and that happened once, and I bought them on a discount, now Iusually just buy 15 using in game gold and go my merry way). I usually buy crates to get lower tier items and treat anything from higher tiers (100 and 400 gems) as a nice bonus. I was lucky when I bought those 45 crates since I got the radiant apex mount and two apex ones on top of that, but I know it was extreme luck that I experienced. Never aim for radiant mounts from the get go, you'll most probably be disappointed.

Radiant apex drops are slightly less then .02%

There is a slightly better chance for the bonus card (.24 ish) and bonus card drop average is about 1 in 5.

You can get a radiant drop from a normal card but it is very rare

Radiant Apex mounts are the biggest scam in ESO. I know its a scam and they still get me for several hundred dollars at the time. My only defense is to play another game not pay attention to ESO.

Short of that I would have delete my account, which honestly I am not far off of over just the frustration from crown crates.

I've been fairly lucky I have three radiant apex mounts the flame wolf, a lightening senche, and the new lightening saber cat.

The absolute crap part is the game has given me a few radiant apex mounts but never the one want.

I don't think ZOS will ever open up Radiant Apex for gem or crown purchase they have a cash cow and plan to keep milking it.

There is zero indication your chance is the same as someone elses. The aggregate data may not be accurate for your account. Only ZoS knows. And they aren't telling.

    I feel sorry for you.

With a Radiant Apex drop rate (reported) of 0.13%, you pretty much have to open 500 crates just to get even odds (50-50 chance) of getting a Radiant Apex drop. 950 crates gives you a 71% chance.

It would be a truely slimey thing to do to players if that's true. It would only make sense to adjust odds in favor of players who spend this much. Kind of a mercy, but also to keep the big spenders happy. From these results, if ZoS does in fact adjust odds by account, the conclusion would be that they instead are taking advantage of players' impulses to suck their "whales" dry.

Drope rate is something we have invented to console us from the pain of opening any number of crates.
The fact is, its a gamble and you have a chance of getting it on every crate or none.
As evident here, 900+ crates and no drop and then some get it from 1 crate...so drop rate is just BS IMO.
If you spent enough gold/ $$$ to get that many crates, the blame is on you, not zos. No one is sitting behind the glass changing the odds.

What comes out of those crates is pure chance. I've gotten amazing items from one batch, crate after crate. Then the next batch I bought, all junk. I got an apex mount on the second crate I ever opened. Just pure chance.

I'd prefer they just get rid of the crates entirely and put everything in the crown store instead so we can actually just buy the item we want. But I'm sure they make serious bank off the crates from people trying over and over for that one item, so yeah unless the crates are classified as gambling and they're forced to remove them I don't see them ever getting rid of them.

Gotta say, I've never dug for radiants. I've bought more crates that I care to admit, but I'm buying them for the other things in there (or for gems so I can get the other things). I've been playing for a year now, but I've never hit a radiant from a crate.

I'm really not all that interested in mounts in the first place, and there are only a few of the radiants I like but I know I'll never get them.

I actually haven't been impressed with crates for a while - I didn't get many of the Gloomspore ones and I still haven't bought a single Nightfall, but I know I'm gonna be going for a lot of the Sovngarde cosmetics so I guess it balances out. But yesterday, for the first time, I got my first ever radiant. And funny thing - it was the third or fourth crate of a 4-box New Moon pack. I was really just trying to build up gems more than anything and a radiant falls into my lap.

Weird, once I'm really just trying to get gems, then I get the radiant. Guess that's the only one I'm ever getting though...

Wow, as much as some don't want to believe there's some gamber milking algorithm with the crates.. that happened to me also. My case that triggered the "lucky last" clause was first ever purchased 4 pack. Got nothing until the very last card, which happened to be a legendary mount. Im not sure if its that smart, but it also happened to be of the same animal (senche) that i pretty much exclusively use. Notice anything interesting around the crates where it happened to you?

If we can work this out, well, for me at least its intelligent gambling or no gambling so i might get to buy another one.

EDIT: Also it seems really clear that the odds in the gamble packs aren't designed to create the experience that would maximise money out of, say *non* whales. Its for the whales. If by chance its more elaborate and i just haven't trained the system that i'll only gamble for good rewards.. feel free to flag my account as "will only gamble if guaranteed a legendary or above from 4 crates" and i'll start pouring in too. I just don't have the financial stamina to beat the whale engine.
