This is a followup to an earlier poll in which I asked the forums "Which Base Class needs a buff?" The top picks were Nightblade and Dragonknight. Here we'll have a run off of which class needs a buff more, but specify whether that is Magicka or Stamina.
Murphy's Law of PvP : If it can be abused and or exploited, it will be abused and or exploited.
Buffing MagDK only makes sense if Elf Bane gets nerfed (which should probably happen anyway because it's not great for a whole class's performance to depend on a single set).
It's good for trolling or bombing groups of bad players, but in an even fight I get the feeling that every other class has a higher chance to kill the opponent.
I voted in a PvE context but now I see that this seems to be about PvP.
In that case, I would also go with Magicka Nightblade.
@the1andonlyskwex Elf Bane absolutely does not need to be changed. There are plenty of ways to improve the class kit without touching on gear sets at all. A very simple one would be increase the Combustion passive to 750 or even 1000 Magicka per proc and/or to give magDK a Warden-like passive that doubles chances to apply Burning from Ardent Flame skills.
I just wanna see DKs passives updated. Doesn’t need to be overdone. Especially ardent flame. Only damage increases there are are duration buffs to skill and area of effect damage bonus to flame and poison. Nothing else to boost dps. How many poison AoE abilities are there that aren’t tied to a poor performing set??
Seriously asking for buffs on NB, the highest DPS class in this game? Like, for real?
in what universe is nightblade the highest DPS in the game. Maybe 2 years ago, and oh my they were good days. Both of these classes struggle hard at the moment, the stamina classes more than the magicka ones.
Iron atro parses are not an amazing example and also these results are skewed due to the fact that not many people submit parses, but I would love to see a stamblade post a higher than 120K DPS parse.

hahahahahahahahahahahaha highst dps good joke brooo
stam blade if u are good 80k dps on dummy
mag warden 120k on dummy
hahahahahahahah blade and good long time since i heard this
For PVE there is esologs which can tell you which classes really need a buff in pve, but in pvp its all based on the player, then the class. A great player can make any class good with time invested.
It's quite hard to answer without any context. In pvp clearly it's magblade, in pve all of them quite honestly, magdk probably being in first lines for an actual sustain buff while stam blade/dk severely needs a damage increase.
I don't do trials, and it doesn't really matter in 4 man content, so I'm talking about PvP.
On paper, magblade is fine. But all your burst is so easy to dodge or block as it's predictable. So it can be lackluster and just feels like a scuffed magsorc that requires a lot more skill and effort.
NB in general. Class is getting some buffs & qol improvements next update, but I feel like it will mostly help stamina nb slightly more - therefore I voted for mag nb.
MagDk is easily one of the most OP classes in PvP right now. It needs a nerf if anything.
Lol what? You haven't played this game for a long time I assume?
They have reduced magdk from having 4 fun playstyles to 1 semi-boring playstyle.
On topic: Magblade all the way, nighblades in general are a underperfoming class. Both in PvE and PvP, but I don't think zos will improve the class, they have gutted it in so many ways so that it's a shadow from its former self and I don't think zos will swallow their pride and revert some of the nerfs.
And to people who think I'm bias to nighblades, I have always hated the "assasin" type of character and I have always hated nightblades being mainly a pvper for the last 4 years, but even I can recognize how much *** that class have gone through.
