I believe it was implemented by setting crit damage to zero, not actually restricting crit. Someone confirm?

That's what i would like to know. I have tried it before and it did not work. So I'm asking here to see if others are experiencing the same.

Maybe it's a bug? Even from a programming sense it would be inefficient to literally check if a skill is crit or not, then say not to crit instead of forcing the modifier to zero. But then again, it is ZOS so I do not know...

I can confirm from whacking on a target dummy for several minutes with Malacath's band on that it will not allow Iceheart to proc.

If the set needs dealing critical damage to proc its proc then using Malacath won't allow your to proc it since Malacath doesn't allow you to deal critical damage.

Wouldn't it be even easier to set crit chance to zero?

Yes, it's intended that conditions requiring a critical strike cannot be met when wearing Malacath's as it prevents crits from happening for all intents and purposes. This is even relevant for balancing as proc sets that require a crit have bigger tooltips than those that don't because they cannot ever be buffed by Malacath's (like Caluurion's which after having the crit requirement removed on PTS at first, now has it back again after ZOS realized the potential it has with Malacath's).

This Bosmer was tortured to death. There is nothing left to be done.
