Is there a trick to using Precision editing?

I recently experimented with this when I was unable to line two pieces together, and it worked very well. The problem I'm having is once I've completed the edit and move on to something else, all the changes I made revert back. I looked for a way to save my changes, but can't find one.

What am I missing?

Click with your mouse to save the new precision-edited location of the item? Maybe that was missing?

Im not sure if I did that. I'll try that when I log in. I had a feeling it was something simple I was overlooking.

@bluebird is correct. When you are done precision editing an item you have to left click to place the item (at least on PC). Your changes aren’t saved until you do.

The precision editing is fantastic, it's exactly what was needed for housing.

On console, the trick I’ve used when having multiples of the same item is to *place* all of them in the exact same spot. Then from there use precision editing to move each individual furnishing exactly where you want by counting the centimeters/degrees. Placement can be just about perfect now

This is a godsend for consoles. You can move the object without picking it up, so you avoid the camera suddenly choosing some other indeterminable orientation than the one you currently had.

I have not tried it on very large or very long items yet to see if it is easier, though. I hope with precision editor that you can see the whole object instead of being zoomed in on one corner and unable to see the rest.
