So this is my first post, been playing for about 2 years and finally got access to the forums. To most this will probably sound like a rant and well, it is. I have quietly ridden out all the changes for better or worse since I started playing but this time I wanted to say something since this is a triple hit to one of my builds, nerf... nerf... NERF!
You know it's almost like the developers of this game don't even play it. You make decisions to nerf sets based on like 10% of the games players; the elitist trial runners because they use group set buffs to overcome obstacles you place in the game. Like isn't that the point? Saying trial groups use sets like Worm's Raiment to reduce New Moon Acolytes penalty is like saying players stack armor to reduce the damage they take; its idiotic.
With that being said I don't think most the set changes you made this round are bad minus 2 things. Of course one is not agreeing with the New Moon nerf as many who use it do not fall in the elitist A-hole group. I have one character I use it on and I bear the weight of the penalty as fully as anyone who uses medium armor does (2% stamina cost reduction per piece of medium armor worn; 2x6 = -12% + 5% = -7%).
The 2nd thing with this round of changes is you missed one set in your buffs. Strength of the Automaton was left out when all the other similar sets were buffed. The magicka exact equivalent; War Maiden is getting the buff therefore in all fairness you must include Strength of the Automaton. In my opinion all the stick waivers already have a big advantage over stamina users as it is (they get the same spell crit for 5 pieces of light armor worn as stamina gets for all 7 pieces being medium and they also receive a massive 4.8k spell pen. On top of this they get to sprint everywhere in dungeons, roll dodge and use break-free while still have full primary resource to fight with). +15% damage 5pc Medium bonus does not mean much when the lower pen means its more like 7.5% and oh wait... you have very little stamina left to do damage with after sprinting through the dungeon.
While on the equipment set note; please stop buffing and nerfing them on account of a small % of players taking advantage of a tiny exploit, just stop. Call me crazy but... I do not find it fun grinding and farming for viable equipment and using valuable and slow to acquire gold upgrade material on it only to have it nerfed into mediocrity or another set now buffed to being the logical option for use. I farmed Unhallowed grave for nearly a week, it was all I did racking up over 20 runs just to get a single Grave Guardian set necklace that I needed for one of my tanks. This was to include your wonderful trade option for dungeon gear, I ran 50% of them with someone from my guild looking for aegis caller so that equaled 30+ chances for a drop. Let me tell you this isn't fun, I get the point some grinding is needed but groundhog day every time you play the game for a week plus?
Now to my other sore point for this update; you are destroying Ritual of Retribution. It is in the Restoring Light line and now it doesn't heal?! Talk about identity crisis. Players didn't use RoR because it's massive damage output or massive healing potential; it is because both the effects combined made it a great skill that even stamina templars could use. I mean a HoT with a massive radius that costs magicka which is not my primary resource and scales off my stamina? Yes please. Oh and I get bonus DoT albeit magicka (which I have no pen built in for so not super useful), definitely yes! But if you go forward with these changes I doubt anyone will use this in a group setting if at all. Perhaps magicka DPS templars but why use it when spear shards has higher damage output, is cheaper to cast and can still proc Burning Light even with your changes to that passive? Stamina DPS templars wont use it since no spell pen= much less damage and why would a healer use this morph now when it doesn't heal? To me the current way RoR works is part of the Templar class identity irregardless of your role; Tank, DPS or Healer all can use this skill in its current form effectively. It says "This is sacred ground, my companions will find respite here and any who wish us harm that enter will only find pain".
