I'm curious because of this in PTS patch notes 6.1.1. https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/comment/6871625/#Comment_6871625
When approaching a home you own, your nickname for that home will now appear on the door.

If I'm on my crafter, or happen to be in riften, I ride to my house(Very short distance from where I do my crafting), otherwise I port. So about 20/80

I have some other way of somehow entering my house.
I only walk to the house if I am near it or it is near a wayshrine. Otherwise I port from the map.

I also have a bunch of addon keybinds, so I can port to my main houses with numbers on the keypad. For example I press '0' and it takes me straight to the guild house.

Yes. I go to the zone first then walk to my house.
I said yes, but the true answer is some times, if it's nearby to where i already am, but just as often home-port there, using them as a wayshrine closer to my quest objectives or guild traders.
    Edit = Typos ... as usual. <;D

I teleport from the Map, finding the House in Collections menu takes too long. I guess because i have a bunch of houses.

Anyway, I have only nick named one house as the name never seemed to appear anywhere.

I would like to see the Nickname show up on Tool Tip when viewing the map

Varies by house. Sleek Creek is often walked to, when returning from doing writs in Rawl'kha, but many others are ported to. Sugar Bowl and Mournoth are used to get to a wayshrine faster/cheaper.

Port can be from Collections, map or EHT's /home, depending on situation. Each of my characters has their own home, and EHT's /sethome makes going back easy.

I either use an addon like guild hall button or beam me up or I just click it directly from the map. The last time I used the door to enter my house was when I did master writs in the Stormhaven house due to the proximity to the turnin. Maybe over a year ago?

    Depends.

If I happen to be fairly near to it, I will go there on foot, as it's nearly as quick and occasionally even quicker and it's also more immersive.

Especially in the case of Proudspire Manor, where my crafting room is located on the ground floor, meaning that entering it via the ground floor door is obviously more efficient than porting to the door upstairs.

Otherwise, I just port to it, via the addon GoHome, if it's my Primary; or via Collections, or the map, in the case of my other homes.

Whether I use Collections or the map tends to depend on what I have in mind, at the time.

If I am thinking of visiting the house, to view, furnish, or craft, I will invariably use Collections.

If, on the other hand, I am interested in using the house as a quick port to something else in the zone, I will typically already be consulting the map and so, will port from that.

No. I just teleport from Collections.
Unless I am already right next to it, I generally just port from collections. The exception is my spooky Hammerdeath Bungalow, as I find that going from the spacious outside of it to the cramped and tortuous inside of it helps sell the mood. But that's really just a tour thing on Halloween. Not a house I use much at all

I have some other way of somehow entering my house.
I teleport from the map. To be honest, although I love housing, I use my houses more often for free fast travel than for actually doing something there. So for example, when my inventory is full, I often fasttravel from a big dungeon (where I don't want to walk all the way back to the exit if I can't collect any more anyway) to Ebonheart castle or to the Ebony Flask room, then leave by foot, sell my stuff in town, and then continue to the next wayshrine.

Even though I use the map to go TO my house, I do walk FROM my house every time I leave home. I exit through the courtyard door into the zone, then get on my mount and make the short ride over to the nearby wayshrine to head to wherever I'm going.

I use the map. My homes are mostly all out of the way places. It doesn't really make sense to me to endure travel time + load time when I can just have load time. In a couple cases the house is closer to something than the wayshrine so it's my jumpoint rather than me destination.

That's why I didn't pick an answer lol.

If Im doing writs, I will run home, because its just up some stairs. If I finished a dungeon, I port home via map. Sometimes this way. Sometimes that way. I really don't think this update was necessary, but okay. I'll take it.

I would have preferred the ability to set a Guild Hall, in addition to my Primary Residence. But hey... guess now I'll think up something clever to name my home. Already have a name for one... "Storage Room" xD
