So, since day 1 of the live release of the Antiquities system, I've had two priorities: the dwarven wolf mount, and the Aldmeria music box. I immediately went out and ground hard to find the first two pieces of the music box, and then started looking for the third. That means that since roughly May 28 I have spent at least half an hour every day hunting safeboxes and doing circles in areas, switching areas, dodging competition, buying off bounties when absolutely necessary (I'm fairly decent at not getting caught). I have opened, I'd estimate, at least 300 safeboxes in Glenumbra and Greenshade and perhaps 50-70 in other zones after someone told me that it could be from any zone, not just those two. Got my safebox achievement along the way. I was assuming this was a really rare drop, so I've just kept plugging on and made it a part of my daily routine. Sometimes I'll spend up to two or three hours hunting safeboxes if I have the time to spare.
Tonight, my best friend got done hunting HER priorities, and decided to look for that last piece of music box. She didn't even really know where to find safeboxes, so I shared with her my favorite hunting spot and gave her a tip. She had JUST found the Moons-Blessed Ceremonial Pool after a few hours of grinding, and I was laughingly annoyed because I spent 3 days doing that and then gave up and she got it after one night's work. So I said to her, "haha, I'm actually not upset about that. I'd only be upset if you found the music box piece right away."
Well GUESS WHAT. It was not five minutes after I said that. NOT FIVE MINUTES. FIRST SAFEBOX SHE OPENED. So.
I'm onto you, ESO. I know you have an actual demon in your RNG, now. Giving me all the bears from crown crates when I loathe bears, that should have been enough of a sign for me, but I just thought nah, that's just my bad luck and some irony. But this is definitely a demon. You have a demon, ZOS. Please exorcise your RNG code. Thank you.
