Creating glyphs for something other than jewellery

pavelcherepanskyrwb17_ESO
So basically my issue is there in the title - almost every glyph that I create says that it's to be used to enchant jewellery and what i need is something to enchant armor. What am i doing wrong or why could this be happening?

Thanks in advance!

The type of glyph depends on what Potency (square) and Essence (triangle) runes you use.
To have a glyph that you can put on an armor try using the Jora potency rune and either the Deni, Makko or Ono Essence runes: those should give you a basic glyph of Stamina/Magicka/Health to put on your armor.

I really think there needs to be a bit more expansion in what enchants armor can get. Armor can only get 3 kinds of enchants while jewelry gets like 15, and jewelry are less common than armor. There is just way too many jewelry enchants, and way too few armor enchants.

it just seems off. In the other elder scrolls games, jewelry and armor shared most enchants, where only certain enchants were specific to jewelry.

I think there should be another potency rune that will put some enchants that would usually be jewelry to go into armor, while certain other ones will still remain jewelry. Things like fire resists, poison resist, and enchants for armor that give thinks like magicka regen but negative magicka value (so it wont be a regen stacked thing)

Enchanting armor with the same 3 enchants just makes you get over charged and forces you to even it out, which kind of goes against the want to enchant when you want to focus on a certain thing or playstyle.

Armor enchants need one of those three essence runes (Deni, Makko, Oko), plus any "positive" potency rune. So Porade, Jera, Jejora etc. will work in addition to Jora.

    For weapon enchants:
    • Dekeipa + positive = add frost damage
    • Deni + negative = recover stamina
    • Deteri + positive = add damage shield
    • Deteri + negative = reduce target's armor
    • Haoko + positive = add disease damage
    • Kuoko + positive = add poison damage
    • Makko + negative = absorb magicka
    • Meip + positive = add shock damage
    • Oko + negative = absorb health
    • Okoma + negative = unresistable damage
    • Okori + positive = increase power
    • Okori + negative = reduce target's power
    • Rakeipa + positive = add fire damage

That means these essence runes are always only for jewelry (if that affects your decisions on what to store until/if jewelry becomes more readily accessible at some point):
    • Denima
    • Kaderi
    • Makderi
    • Makkoma
    • Oru
    • Taderi

Thanks mate! Now finally i can freely get rid of all the jewellery-specific runes. Oh, and another question. I couldn't find where to craft jewellery, can we craft it at all or is it just what you find?

We can't craft jewelry right now. Hopefully at some point in the future!

Thanks for that. Sorry for being annoying but one last question on enchanting. How do we change what level the enchantment is going to be? I mean, it's easy with blacksmithing, clothier and alchemy but I can't really grasp the idea of how to create a glyph for a particular level range.

the level of enchantment depends on the quality of one of the rune words.

A green Jenata (aspect rune) will make the enchantment green.

Actually, the aspect (white/green/yellow/blue/purple) runes are about the quality, not the level. The potency runes affect the level.

Ok, that much I've figured but what about levels of items that can be enchanted? What should I do to, say, create a glyph for armor that adds magicka for armor levels 10-20 or 15-20?

Sorry Adagia, I posted my comment before i saw your. Can you please tell me how to identify which potency rune should I use for a certain level?

I kind of agree with this. While I love creating enchantments to add 21 stamina to my armor, it seems very basic.

Adding all of the jewelry enchantments to armor would be much more interesting and would create a big decision as to what to pursue.

Does anyone know why a glyph wouldn't take full effect on a piece of armor? Say I have a glyph for 20-30, that adds 37 max magicka, but when I go to enchant a lvl 22 piece of armor, it says adds 15 max magicka??

It depends on the piece of armor you are trying to enchant. I don't know the math, but you would get the full amount on the chest piece and only a certain percentage of that on a smaller piece such as a helmet or a belt.

Pieces like belt, hands, boots all give a decreased effect because they are considered one of the smaller pieces, so you get smaller benefits.

The enchanting craft is ... well, it could be improved a lot... no, I am not being negative. I am just comparing enchanting to the other crafts.
None of the other crafts needs items to ship back and forth between two Chars to have get decent leveling exp.
