NPC subtitles in chat - help

I’ve started getting NPC dialogue come up in the zone chat. Is there a way to turn this off? I’ve tried fiddling with the settings, but I can’t find a solution.

I want subtitles on screen, but no longer filling up the chat box.

This started happening with the launch of Greymoor.

Should be a box to click off named NPC in your chat window's option. You open the option by right clicking your chat tab name and chose options.

Unless they're on console. Us console plebs do not have such options.

XBONE, here - and since maybe U25? - they are always present with no way to turn off that I know of.

On ps4 the side chatbox doesnt have them but if you open the full chatbox then npc line are displayed

On console it needs to have one of the following:

1. The ability to shut it off.
2. It's own separate text chat.
3. Eliminates completely.

Ideally the first two are better options, but if not feasible get rid of it.

I never understood why they were added to begin with.

Currently you can't turn it off on console or gamepad mode (PC)
