Since you are on PC, you can lock anything with the use of certain inventory management addons.

FCOIS is one that comes to mind - it has its own "lock" functionality - which is separate from the basegame lock functionality but works in largely the same way.

How are you going to accidentally destroy your best and hardest earned stuff if you can lock it in your bag ?

If you would lock consumeables without addons, you would be asked before every use if you really want to use it and write an entire word, so I guess thats why you can't lock them.

Does that addon prevent tristat potions from being used for alchemy writs? @Major_Lag
This Bosmer was tortured to death. There is nothing left to be done.

They could just let us lock them from accidental sale to a vendor, as opposed to locking them in general.

Can't really use them if they're in your bank, though.

I've always wondered why we can only lock equipment and not consumables. Give us the ability not to accidentally trash crafted stuff, at the very least. Most people probably would never need to use a feature like this, but for the people who would, they shouldn't have to rely on an addon for base functionality (especially for people on console who can't even use addons).

Are people accidently turning them in for writs or something?

I'm a little confused under what circumstances people need to lock consumables that they are also using frequently.
