One of the problems of sorcerer is that pets are really hard to balance when they need to be double barred, rendering them either useless, or mandatory for dps builds depending on balance.

What I think should be done is to nerf pet damage and make pet be desummoned, only 5 seconds after it is not on your bar(it means you can go on backbar for 4 skills tops, for example). Then balance the skills around it, now that the pet doesn't need to be double barred.

It will require buffing (and fixing) other class skills that are not used in PvP (liquid lightning, or, idk, liquid lightning) to bring sorcerer back on the same level.

Obviously the 5 seconds can be extended to more, but I think PvP will be more interesting with the 5 seconds requirement.

Pet damage isn't actually good, and it's getting a nerf on pts. Its just that sorc doesn't have a class spammable. They are getting it changed to one on pts and it's so much better.

I do like that pet change too. I don't think they'd be broken even if they could be single barred and stay out. Their passive damage is extremely low.
That one khajiit obsessed with werewolf behemoth and vampire lord. Lady Thorn is bae, dont @ me.
    Werewolf behemoth=vampire lord>blood scion>werewolf>vampire.

Pets are not getting nerfed. They are getting buffed. Here are tests of someone:

    Have you actually tested anything?

Live parse, 21m. perf Siroria, sorrow front bar, maw.
    unknown.png

Pts parse, same gear. Keep in mind that siroria has been nerfed on the parse dummy by 80 max spell damage.
    unknown.png

My frags average damage is the same, my max frags is higher but with the lower spell damage overall and the changes to BT i'm not surprised.

The change to pets to FINALLY get benefits from spell damage is awesome and should have happened a long time ago. Sorcs are finally able to take advantage of pure spell damage sets properly

Yes and No actually...for general sorc build pets are buffed as a result of more sp in their coefficient.
If you were running a high crit high magicka build pets are nerfed
Now you will have to gear more like a magicka style sorc, and pet sorcs in a heavy lightning petsorc build will lose some sustain due to loss of greater magicka pool along with crit to balance out the coefficient.

MS PFG is not getting nerfed, you will get similar results. (a bit lower because pfg itself is getting nerfed, but it has nothing to do with pet sorcs in specific).

New moon acolyte/siroria/bsw + ms is getting buffed (with pets).

New blood thirsty will affect pets.

The only thing that gets nerfed is if you are running necropotence/crafty/destruction mastery, which were inferior sets that running them cut to your other skills damage to begin with.

So rejoice. Now you can run things that make your pets and your general damage better. You can also say thanks for the change so blood thirsty jewelry will affect pets as well, without this change, pet sorc would be nerfed.

Blood thirsty better choice for pet style play vs Infused with SP I keep hearing mixed results on that end? I'm actually curious.

Mixed is better by people's tests, what I meant is, without the change, pets wouldn't get buffed by any jewelry trait, neither infused nor bloodthirsty, making them weaker.
