It's South of Shademother...keep going on the road and look up - it's on top of the hill. You can't miss it. Cross the little wooden bride over the creek to get up to the road to it.

This is a Dwemer home but it’s made out of very light gray stone and what looks like light colored metal? This is not like any Dwemer delve or other area I’ve ever seen in the game. The stone is always very dark gray and the metal the typical brassy/bronze dark color. Even the lighting is different.

Very odd.

Not sure about the entire outside area being a frozen lake, either.

I love the Dwemer house! And I know a lot of people have been waiting for one.

My only comment is that there needs to be more Dwemer space and less lake. The Dwemer area is too small, which is what most people want, and not enough area to decorate as living room/area, kitchen/dining area, and bedrooms. The alcoves, cause that's what they are, are not nearly large enough to decorate as a living space.

They probably won't read individual threads around the forum, but they did ask for players feedback there. A few people already shared their opinions, so it would be nice if your feedback reached them too - the more players give feedback, the better!

((And honestly, I just want as many people to complain about the Dwemer house as possible, lol. This is the 2nd time they add a white-tinted Dwemer ice house that doesn't match Dwemer furniture. ))

I can’t view it on the PTS because...console player.

I would post about it there but watching a video on my tablet instead of actually being there myself probably doesn’t give me as good of a view of the place.

I understand, and I hope it didn't come across like I'm pressuring anyone to comment if they'd rather not. But if you feel like you have general feedback on the design direction, or item limits, or furniture you'd like to see, or such like, you can feel free to share your thoughts on the PTS thread. Console players' opinions matter too imo, not just those of PC players!

Well, it's good that some people don't hate it I guess. Tastes differ for sure. But based on many comments on the feedback thread, most people who have been waiting for a Dwemer house don't consider this non-matching ice Dwemer Stillwaters Retreat home any more suitable than they did the non-matching ice Dwemer Frostvault Chasm home. So the desire for a Dwemer house is not alleviated.

What is really strange, is that ZOS are aware of this. They created a set of new Dwemer lamps (gold recolours of existing old Dwemer lamps), and put those in the new house... So clearly, they know that their Dwemer house doesn't match their Dwemer furniture and yet decided to match a 'Dwemer' house to those 5 new gold recolor lamps, rather than to the 95% of the existing Dwemer furnishings. Rather odd.

Of course, there is nothing wrong with Stillwaters Retreat in itself, the white and gold halls look very good (like a Meridian Shrine or an old Falmer temple), it just doesn't quite hit the Dwemer mark. I think most people would be perfectly happy if we had gotten a proper Dwemer house 2 years ago, and they kept adding alternative recolours in addition to a proper Dwemer house, not instead of one.
