kinda bs how ppl can steal your chests

ominous187
i picked the lock opened it didnt have enough space for it so i deleted something and some *** ran up and opened it and took the item and was off like the fart in the wind that jerk is, but its complete bs that they can just steal it right away like that seconds after unlocking it... atleast give me the optionto access my invo to delete something without having to close the chest like a normal game does...

This happened to me once. And It is pretty annoying.

Your solution sounds like a reasonable way to avoid it.

Its annoying but there will be other chests.

LOL fart in the wind. anyways i have had that problem. i just empty my inventory after every adventure out of town now and make regular trips back. i do think your idea is more than reasonable though.

happens with all resources. They should be player instanced. Nothing more frustrating that having stuff vanish in front of you because you're on a slightly slower connection.

yeah...i don't even bother killing an elite in front of a chest out in the wilderness anymore unless i haven't seen anyone for miles. As soon as I draw aggro, that chest is for the taking.
This is all part of the game.

I thought you were going to complain about other people claiming your chest after you failed to pick the lock on the first try but this actually seems justified.

I've had to shuffle my inventory to get into a chest loads of times, guess I was lucky there were no thieving players around to take the booty from me. Would suggest checking your inventory space very quickly before attempting to pick the lock in future. That's what I'll be doing from now on. Thanks for the heads-up! ;)

I've had people nick chests off me while I am clearing the mobs around them and I have stumbled across a couple of chests with no-one nearby and an item inside... but pretty uncool to nick a chest that someone is near.

they didn't even have 2 pick it.. just opened it and took it right as i closed it to make room...i would have sat there with the chest open till they went away if i seen them. but i shouldnt have to do that.. like i said b4 either make it so i can access my invo to delete items if my invo is full..or put a 30 sec or 1m timer on it...wonder if they can do the same to exclusive chests...

Usually doesn't happen to me after I pick chests, but I get scooped all the time fighting mobs in front of one. I like how the person will stop... pause, you see them swivel view to the chest... back to you... then run for the chest, pick like crazy and run off.

I had one guy say to me "too slow, so sad." Saw him later in a public dungeon getting mauled by 7 skeletons... oops no help/heals for you...

    Lol buy more bag space...
  • huytorwb17_ESO
    It is working as intended.
Either buy more bag spaces and manage your inventory better if your always full.
If you fail on the lockpick then you lost your chance, thats all there is to it.

He didn't fail the lockpick... Nice reading skills.

Plus, one of the major complaints of this game is the inventory management, this thread is just a symptom of that larger issue.

This is exactly how it should work.

Back in the Ultima Online days, we'd refer to a player like this as a "carebear."

Unfortunately, all games these days cater to this demographic.

This is a carebear game though, most with "Chosen one" stories usually are... This isn't Ultima Online, there are other games you can play in that style.

lol did you even read any of it? as jake said, nice reading skills.... it was just unlocked and didnt know i had a full invo and kinda just found the chest.so i unlocked it.got the full bag sound. closed the chest.went into invo deleted a item.. then a jerk ran up and just opened it like it was a barrel and took the item and was off like a fart in the wind after i did all the work... so tell me..how the *** is that working as intended? going by your reading skills i doubt any reply will be plausible.

happened to me, i blamed myself for not checking my inv space before picking it. the guy was rude but it wouldnt have happened if i was ready. oh, and players can take your loot immediately after you pick it too so be ready to hit r asap if someone is camping you

I hope they don't change anything about it. I have no issue managing my inventory, once I see that I'm hitting 100, I go to town, sell off what I don't intend on researching and bank the rest.
