Blue Jewel writs

Can these just be culled from the game?

They existed from a time when blue and purple were the only ones, now purple has been buffed and gold writs exist the blue ones are now redundant.

You can't even give them away they are so cost ineffective. They have to be manually destroyed to clear up your inventory after doing daily writs.

I was kinda hoping the PTS notes under crafting would have finally culled them.

Theyre worth a bit more on xbox I've noticed than pc. Writ vouchers go for somewhere around 800g per voucher on console and from what I've seen, pc is half that. That means the value of master writs in general are hardly worth it on pc.

i don't know. It only takes 2 blue platings to upgrade a piece of jewelry and you get 25-30 writ vouchers from them. I do all the blue robust, healthy, infused and arcane blue writs. If you don't want to do them destroy them. FYI when jewelry came out there were no blue writs, only purple and gold and they were not worth doing so they came out with blues and buffed both purple and gold. But purple and gold still aren't worth doing because purple platings are hard to come by. Blues are easy to get and have a ton of them.

I agree. Blues are really the only ones that are cost effective and worth doing, and maybe the purples that gives over 100 vouchers.

Used to be purple and gold but mat costs in Guild Stores were too high to make it cost effective.
ZOS wanted people to do them so they introduced blues and increased the voucher payout.
We told ZOS that without cost control it would useless as mat prices would go up to match.
    Which happened just as predicted.
The blues now actually cost a lot less before but the price of Iridium went up and now a lot of people don't even bother doing them -- they sell the iridium instead.
You can see how many players try to basically give it away in Guild Stores selling them cheaply. And people with the older lower-payout writs try to scam people by posting them as well.

So... TLDR; = players did it to themselves. Unless ZOS introduces material price control players will keep sabotaging jewelry writs.

They cost over 500g per voucher.

Meaning they cost as much, or more, to make as the things you can buy with them typically sell for, in guild stores.

    That is the problem.

No writ should cost as much to make as the things you can buy with them typically sell for, let alone more.

Alternatively make the blue writs sellable so they can autojunked and sold. Having to destroy them is a pain in the ass.

This. All blue JC writs are close to or above 500g/voucher, which is the point where it's not worth doing them, unless you really need vouchers. Purple ones can drop under 500g/v as well, tho I prefer to sell them and the zircon platings instead of doing them. Blue writs tho gets DESTROYED whenever I get them, not worth trying to sell.

What might suit you might not suit others...

Blue jewelry writs are fine as they are.
If you don't want to do master writs, sell them or destroy them.

Jewelry writs were a lot worse, more costly to do, before the refurbishing.

I've tried to sell them for literally 1k a piece. Now, I just destroy them. I wish they didn't have the "ARE YOU SURE YOU WANT TO DESTROY THIS?!?! 3...2...1..." timer on it.

If you're selling voucher items for profit... they're not worth doing...

If you're buying voucher items for yourself... they're worth doing...

They're within the ~8% tax from selling in guild stores

And prices on Blue/Purple/Gold Platings are slowly coming down.

That's a player decision, though. What are people using the blue improvers on if not for writs? Since blue jewelry is pretty easy to find in game.

Maybe it's my addons but I just mark them all as Junk and then go to that tab and in one swoop confirm I want to destroy everything there.

This. There is hardly any use for blue plating other than the writs. Only the occassional piece of crafted jewellery and a handful of sketches. Meanwhile the blue plating is fairly easy to come by just from deconstructing the random jewellery that drops as you play.

not sure i understand. Are you buying jewelry writs. I get all my writs from my dailies and all my blue platings I get from refining and deconstruction. No gold is spent. So for me it's an easy way to get vouchers. However I don't do the writs with the traits such as swift or truine or harmony because the trait mats are hard to come by or expensive.

We don't have that luxury on console. We have to destroy them one at a time, and the timer is on every single one of them. It's really, really annoying, kinda like destroying all of those event runebox things

Is it just me or did the overall master writ marked collapse the last year, previously they sold for +100 gold / voucher for gold clothing, woodworking and smithing writs but now its down to 30 something on PC-EU.
The alchemy, provisioning and enchanting still sell well as they are nice for power leveling.
However the cheap gold writs will also make the blue jewelry writs less useful.
Feel that blue tempers are not that much used anyway, purple is nice to upgrade blue gear from normal trials and dlc dungeons.

Only ones I routinely do are the blue ones except for the ones with the really expensive traits. Each main does one gold one for the dye, and after that if they ever get them again I just mark them as junk and destroy them, along with the purple ones.
