I still haven't gotten my email, and the only problem I have with "July still has over 2 weeks left" is, what am I supposed to do if July comes and goes but I never get the email? How long am I supposed to wait until I know there's a problem? My email address was already registered, and I was already getting marketing emails-- and have continued to get them since this free pet promotion began-- so there wasn't anything for me to do except log in and see that I was already opted in for marketing emails. Does the fact that I haven't gotten my email yet have anything to do with the fact that I didn't do anything, since there wasn't anything for me to do?

I didn’t have to do anything either, same as you, and the email showed up in my inbox the other day, several days after they started sending out codes. It seems to be random as to when people get the email compared to when they opted in.

For me, a big part of the confusion with this particular promotion comes from the fact that (to the best of my recollection) they have never taken so long to send out these sorts of things before once they started the process. They are typically noncommittal about actual issue dates, saying things like “during this month” or “by this date,” but once they start sending them, they send them all within a very short time period (a couple of days). So when they said “by the end of July,” their established pattern suggested that they could start at any time in July, but once they started it would be fairly quick for qualified individuals to receive the email. Surely they know from past experiences that once some people start receiving emails, others who are confident they qualified become understandably confused as to why they haven’t gotten theirs yet. And while the CMs have popped in here and there to say “we’re not done sending out emails,” to their credit, they have done this quite differently from previous promotions in terms of the length of time it’s taking them from start to finish. A word of prior warning that this process would take so long compared to previous ones (e.g. “we will be sending them out slowly over the course of the month,” rather than their typical phrasing of “by this date”) would have helped us expect, well, a significantly longer process this time around.

At this point I think there’s not much to be done but wait until August 1 or until the CMs announce that the process is complete on their end. If you haven’t gotten it as promised by then, raising the issue here or submitting a ticket usually clears up any omissions. At least from what I’ve read on the forums and seen in game, CMs do a decent job of handling missed cases after the fact. (Support can issue the codes or simply add the entitlement to your account if you were by chance skipped over.) It’s a shame people might have to wait so long to know whether they’ve been overlooked, though.
