Haven't seen a werewolf in PvP for ages ...

Then you haven't been paying attention.

Werewolf is terrible almost universally, lmao

I have half of mind to think that you only do under-50 BGs, where AFAIK they're still godlike.

In order to be successful with WW you need to understand three things:

    - Build for WW weaknesses
    - A group that collectively understands that in order to be successful a WW must stay with them AND they need to stay with the WW
    - By and large WW is NOT meant to fight solo and if a WW is part of your group the first thing on your mind when considering strategy is keeping an eye on them for support

With that formula you can be successful in any PvP arena, even in a smaller 4 man pug group.

Think of a WW like a Cavalry unit from something like Civ 5. If a Spearman attacks the unit it's screwed. And then you say, this sucks. But then if you cover your Cavalry with infantry and let them do their job... they can win the entire war for you, minus capturing cities of course.

    Take Flight
Even in PvE, if you're soloing, Take Flight is cheap, effective, restores resources, and provides a damage shield as well as a high amount of flame damage...always going to pick it as a top ulti.

    Negate

A small group can be very effective without any one (or more) of the other ults listed, so long as there is at least one negate in the group. Without a negate, a group is much more limited as far the types of fights in which they can engage. Want to engage a ball group with no negate? Forget it. Fight against groups double or triple your group's size with no negate? Better hope they're AFK or complete potatoes.

Negate makes possible wins which would otherwise be impossible. It is the single most powerful force multiplier in the game, bar none.
