where is the ear ring?
the quest line the colovian occupation. I'm at the "wear the ear ring part", there is no ear ring to wear. It is not in my inventory, my inventory is not full, it is not on the ground to be picked up. I can't proceed with this quest. I've tried quitting the game and reloading. I've tried abandoning the quest and picking it back up. Still no ear ring.

Aluluei✭✭✭When quests involve disguises or other special items, they usually appear in the quest tab or the armor/apparel tab, or are automatically equipped. However, this morning I was doing a quest in which an NPC gave me a costume which I couldn't find for ages. I wasn't wearing it, it wasn't under quest items or apparel, and wasn't in any of the containers nearby. Talking to the NPC gave me dialog that indicated she'd already given me the costume, but if I tried to go through the appropriate door I'd get a message saying I lacked a necessary item. I tried relogging, then abandoning the quest, to no avail. Meanwhile, other players were going up to the NPC and transforming into costume. It was driving me crazy! I went off and did something else and later, quite by chance, found the costume in the miscellaneous tab with some inconspicuous name that I must have overlooked when scrolling through all items earlier.
