Strongest class ultimate in the game?

It's not Take Flight. For starters you have to be able to actually cast the Ultimate first. And about 50% of the time mine never goes off. I just stand there getting massacred.

if you voted anything else, you havent seen a single necro wipe an entire group off the map with 3x harmony traits hitting their own boneyard synergy. it can crit for up to 20k on enemies debuffed by colossus. no proxy-det required, just a 20 second cooldown f-you if you kill enough people from the first bomb.

That seems more like a harmony and boneyard is op statement rather than colusses is op

in 1v1 Take Flight due to how clunky the cc break from the knock up is and how hard it hits
in groups probably Negate is the most vital ult for group play both defensively and offensively.

Take flight is the absolute broken I win button right now. Overload is also very strong, adds a lot of pressure and puts opponents in some kind of permanent defensive stance. Not sure if atro and incap deserve a place on this list, no one can be bothered staying near an atro for too long and incap is also just a dodge.

I've seen 1 person take out ball groups alone that full coordinated groups failed at on an orc stamcro using colossus and spin2win. That person is my buddy, and it's majestic.

I would vote for take flight, mainly because of the buggy knock up it does which renders you unable to act for a moment. That is usually a death sign when they use it while you dodge when being zerged. This moment of not being able to do anything after breaking free, makes it the most frustrating ultimate for me.

But Colossus is the ultimate with the most devastation potential. Though high damage is not as frustrating for me as being rendered completely helpless without counterplay.

Negate is absolutely best ulti to burn ball groups down. I prefer shifting standard to leap in cyrodil pvp but leap in BG and IC.

A lot of great options on here. I am actually really surprised that crescent sweep doesnt have more votes. It has ridiculous damage per ultimate.

I voted colossus just because of the unique debuff and massive group damage increase, its insanely good. My second place vote would be for crescent sweep.

The cost is so cheap for crescent sweep it’s practically built into the rotation. It’s one of those ultimates that doesn’t have a huge impact in 1 shot, but that you can cast it 3-4 times relatively quickly. I find it’s pretty awesome for trash fights and one of my favourites. It also fits with the Templar MO which is steady AOE damage over time. You won’t pull astronomically high numbers but you’ll always have a steady solid DPS. Less peaks and valleys that’s why it’s really the best class for beginners.

It's a toss up between this and colossus. They perform different jobs though really.

That said, do you mean both morphs or just the physical 28m morph?

Why would you put overload but not negate? Do people still use overload these days? I wish it was the case, but I don't really see it used, at all. Maybe I should PvP more.

    For what?

    Protection? Shield or Magma Shell

    Damage dealing? There’s loads

Group utility? Colossus or necro res

    Healing? Warden’s Forest

    Spammability? The Templar one

I don’t think there’s a single ‘strongest’ one out there

It is not used a lot. Most sorcerers use atronach or meteor. Overload is a bit underpowered and also quite buggy, with instances of it simply not shooting light attacks. On paper it looks interesting, yet when you consider that Power Overload is roughly 160% the damage of a light attack, or 2,6 light attacks in 1 shot, it's actually not that powerful.

You have to build for pure damage to make it effective enough to rely on and you know, Sorcerers only build for sustain and survival and many even use energy overload, tickling you with 2-3k light attacks.

Thanks for the numbers. I've been playing stamsorc for 5 years now, I really tried to make overload work in no-cp, but it just doesn't have enough of an impact, it had many nerfs, the maximum ult cut in half, the 3rd bar removed, damage nerfed etc...

I remember gank sorcs and overload putting so much pressure... But yeah, I don't remember seeing it used that much in the last year. Very sad, because I love the concept.

Edit: I guess you meant that 160% of the power of a light attack is 1,6 light attacks in 1 shot...

I think I am not so good at expressing my math. I mean it deals 160% more than a light attack. So it deals the damage of a light attack and then 160% added to that. I should test that again in no-CP however, since I tested this in CP some time ago and that due to all the strange scaling, it's not exactly representitive.

Either way, it is not that strong. I wish they would increase energized from 5% to 10%. That would help a bit.

EDIT: I just tested it and it is indeed so. 162% give or take.
