I propose to ZOS for next years Midyear Mayhem, you open all of Tamriel to PvP. Every zone on the map, DLC areas included, are open for 3 weeks of total mayhem.

Why not an April fools event. Make all of Tamriel PvP, except for Cryo and IC, make them PvE.

That sounds like a great idea. Giving PVE players the opportunity to explore Cryo with no PvP.

This is actually...good. Like, actually good. People have been whining about asking for PvE only Cyrodiil for so long, so why not give it to them while also giving PvPers the rest of Tamriel that they don't normally get to experience? :p

ZOS, do this at least for a couple days. Sounds like a gorgeous April's Fool idea, much better than those stupid 'funny' quests.

I propose that dungeons and trials still have PvE mobs.... They just also have friendly fire.
(Not quite in line with PVP, but making only AOE friendly fire while not letting you target allies with single target effects a la dragon age would also be horrible in a delightful way.)

PvP in open world would be boring and tedious. A PvP area needs choke points and objectives. Cyrodiil has that. Other zones do not.

They could do that now by making a variant of each that had no PvP. I would personally love that, but I don't see it happening.

I would hate worldwide PvP. Though I doubt they could do that without significant rework, so it is also unlikely.

From the perspective of a mostly PvE player, I find this idea very interesting. One thing I loved about doing the dailies in IC was the risk of a player from another alliance finding me a killing me, it really put me on edge and added to the gameplay.

Perhaps instead of making the entirety of Tamriel PvP, which would obviously lead to many many many complaints, they make it so that only one or two PvE zones become PvP.

And THEN... the next day during the Mayhem, those one or two zones revert back to PvE and another random one or two zones become PvP. This continues until the end of the Mayhem.

This is adds more PvP ground to play in; a feeling of randomness/uncertainty in which zones will become PvP; a lot of PvE zones left untouched for pure PvE players to play and quest.

    I love this thread!

Sadly the cannot let such a glorious thing happen for too long. I still want to see it happen though where the area in cities are safe zones but travel out of them and it becomes open season. Allow us to put down siege weapons and place us on our faction's side so it becomes an Alliance vs Alliance deathmatch!

Except it would be ganker vs hapless farmer for one day then hapless ganker searching for farmer.

Is it really an "adventure" if there is no real threat? :)

Top idea! Especially the swap-a-roo wih Cyro & IC becomeing full PVE & the rest of Tamriel being PVP. True Mayhem!

from a perspective of a player who was active in WoW during pre wrath plague event? sure, go for it, just let me know early enough in advance so that I can unsubscribe until its over.

cause I have negative interest in open world pvp I cannot opt out of. and i'd rather NOT pay for the privilege of not being able to acess the game I originally signed up for. you know, the one where pvp is an optional thing you opt into.

Yeah. That whole thing was awful. I spent about a week not logging in at all. In fact, that was when I first played RIFT. So after I left WoW forever, I remembered RIFT, and there I was for a few years. God I miss RIFT's housing setup....

Hey, if they give us plenty of warning so that those of us who are completely uninterested can skip paying for subscription during that month, why not? I could catch up on other games during that mini-vacation from ESO.
