Volley & Arrow Spray

Hi all,
Perhaps someone can clarify a couple of things for me on these two skills before I invest points into them:
Volley - Do NPCs in the radius get pinned/immobilised, or can they just move out of the Volley radius? Seems like a useless skill if they can just move out of the way during the volley.
Arrow Spray - does this affect only one target, or every hostile in front of you? Sounds like it would be useful if it is the latter.

Srugzal✭✭✭✭✭Volley is an AoE. Typically casters won't move, so this works well as an opening salvo. Melee NPCs will, and so it's less effective for that. But if you know that NPCs will charge you, place the volley between you and them so that they will run into it, or else overlap a bit; the sorcerer's Wall of Elements is much better for this, because enemy will nearly always run right through it, taking damage the whole time. It's less useful for PvP because people learn to get out of AoE. But it works best for caster NPCs, especially groups of casters, and on enemies that have been snared by another ability, or another player. If your tank has them immobilized, the arrows raining down on them just add to the fun.
Arrow Spray is another type of AoE that effects a cone in front of you.8

Ethoir✭✭✭It's less useful for PvP because people learn to get out of AoE.
Volley and its morphs are useful in PvP as a means to coax enemy players away rom siege engines and the doors to your keep. Determined players will stay put, but the more squishy ones will back off. IMO the less people there are near those siege weapons and near your weakened doors/walls, the better. Its very useful when combo'd with a Sorc's AoE skills.
In short, its more of a defensive/support skill in PvP. Because yes, players in general will try to avoid it. Those that don't may be tanks like DKs or Templars (with or without healers nearby).
