Best Guides for Builds

Doctor_David
I getting up there on my DPS Sorcerer. Are there any particularly authoritative guides on builds for a class/type?

    Alcast: https://alcasthq.com/ is a good template to start with (although i dont like the builds that he put out this patch)

    Skinny Cheeks Gaming: https://youtube.com/channel/UC9DsGeMufUbCTYQT0dPFZhA

    Liko: https://youtube.com/channel/UCuLGCNYH1t5DyQQ5tfU4Hdw for rotations and gear

    You should avoid builds that don't look close to these builds. (unless you just want to roleplay)

    Dottz Gaming is my go to: https://dottzgaming.com/ Good steady builds and all round playing info.

    BTW I also use Hack The Minotaur: https://www.hacktheminotaur.com/ He has some very handy solo builds some of which are very good one bar builds which are worth checking out. Both Hack and Dottz are on YouTube. Dottz: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC17JqasQTgqPhV6ZeSqHexQ and Hach: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCHao6f96jnipzDPxPLaiouQ

    Hacktheminotaur if one of the content creators that I was talking about (the avoid part). I'm not saying that you shouldn't use his builds, but your raidlead will kindly ask you to change gear when you're doing endgame content. Which will mean that you have either wasted time and gold farming / buying gear and learning the wrong rotation, or it will mean that you wont be able to do endgame content.

    I don't mean vtrial clear with endgame. I mean going for scores, titles or HMs.

    So it all comes down to your playstyle. You can play whatever you want if you just want to play normal dungeons or trials, but you will make it hard on yourself and your teammates if you use those builds in harder content because there is a reason why gear / skill is meta.

    These are all good. However, no one has a perfect ideal builds. They are good references to get one started.

    As I said, solo builds, solo builds mean solo builds such as solo Dungeons and world content. Not everyone is interested in group content.

    Do people really keep switching between bars during a battle?

    Justlootit.com ->Mostly PvE
    Alcasthq.com -> PvE & PvP
    hacktheminotaur.com -> Mostly PvE
    dottzgaming.com -> mostly pvp
    kristofereso.com -> mostly pvp

    Liko & Skinnycheeks on youtube. -> both mostly pve

    These sites provide the majority.
    enjoy!

    Keep in mind builds are templates, you should adjust them to your likings and not strictly play by what the guide says.
    experiment with it.

    Yeah. I'm not up to using two bars simultaneously. So I took Alcasthq and tried to pick out the most important things and make a single target bar and an AOE bar.

    Hack The Minotaur has some interesting single bar builds as well that you may find interesting, very easy to use for PVE solo content. You can solo a lot of non DLC dungeons and world bosses as you progress beyond CP 300. I use one for my new
    magsorc character on my second account and leave the back bar for Battlegrounds. As you get more experience you can experiment with the build to your own taste. I started my second account to experience the game from scratch, but experience gained from the past made it a lot simpler this time. In fact I started this account just to use this build with no CP points and build on it and I find it works fine.

    1 Bar is fine for casual stuff but everyone eventually should learn to 2 bar, you're putting yourself at a massive disadvantage by not using the second bar really.

    With one bar you gain experience in mastering your rotation. Hack gives the option to use the second bar in conjunction with the top bar when the player feels confident to do a two bar rotation and more damage. I find the top bar just fine for me on this account. I use the second bar with my own make up of skills for better damage in Battlegrounds. Some folk find two bar rotation frustrating and difficult. I use two bar rotation on my main account on all my characters. At the age of 75 I find this one bar build handy as my reflexes are not what they were. I also find it a very fun build and does what it says on the box.

    Yeah they really do, which if you have high ping, slow reflexes, or the game is being glitchy that day can be a problem for some people, but if you want to start learning how to do it, look up a one bar build, sorc is lucky in that there are a lot of pretty good one bar builds, then start moving your longest duration skills to the back bar (make sure pets are on both if you are using them, otherwise they get unsummoned) and practice swapping to the back bar to apply those long duration skills then swapping back to the front bar to continue doing damage.

    If you are on PC addons make this way easier because they can track the duration of each skill and let you know when to reapply it. If your on PC something else that helps is having a mouse with some extra buttons to keybind essential things like bar swap to.

    Good luck!
