Could it be to oppose Stuhn's Favour which is very popular right now?
Gotta love how one person says "it's a streamer's fault" with zero things backing it up, then others taking it as the truth and get mad at streamers.
It could just be the healing nerfs to Battle Spirit which made this set far more useful in comparison to pre healing nerf, but sure blame the streamers...

I wouldn't say they're at fault for it, but big streamers do have an influence. I was looking to do a Magika build which happened to run two sets which were also featured in an Alcast build. He had a full set of 'A' on the body with divines and the other as jewelry and weapon. Prices for body pieces in divines 'A' (not giving an actual name because I frankly can't remember which way around it was, I remember for sure that one of the sets was Crafty Alfiq) in divines where insanely high, while the same pieces from the other set were basically given away. Similarly, jewelry and weapons from set 'B' were so much more expensive than those from set 'A' (both light overland sets, mind you). Ended up just switching the sets around and made the build for so much cheaper. I also had a good laugh xD.
As for Pariah, I also noticed how much the prices spiked. I managed to get a full set of impen body pieces for less than 50k not too long before the patch. A friend was looking to buy one as well post patch and I couldn't believe the prices he was telling me about. There's multiple reasons why it spiked, but I do find the set to be very good this meta.
Here it comes....
If you don't like it, then you don't have to use it or else, deal with it in your own way.
Now to the point of pariah, I don't like the set, its just a personal preference because I'd rather find some active way of avoiding damage, than a set doing it passively for me. But hey, thats my PoV. Or I'd rather work on getting the lost healing from some other set while still bein able to sustain and do damage.

They don't make the Meta! They just show those without time/knowlege what Meta is...
With the nerf to healing and crit resistance being completely completely negated by anyone using Malacath's band of brutality (no crits = no worries about crit resist), regular resistances have become a much more reliable source of damage reduction. Pariah gives the highest source of resistances in the game.

Streamers and any content creators shouldn't get any sort of hate or anger shot at them. They are just playing a build that they enjoy, the only difference between them and say you or I, is that they have a platform for all to see them.
Plus popular sets tend to cycle, that's why I never decon sets that I find good or that were once good but fell out of favor/don't work. They may be bad now but who knows what the next DLC or chapter will bring.

Thats why I have 3 toons holding every bit of trash which might become gold some day..
Dragoox released a build using it
It's simple. With the nerf to healing and crit resistance being completely completely negated by anyone using Malacath's band of brutality (no crits = no worries about crit resist), regular resistances have become a much more reliable source of damage reduction. Pariah gives the highest source of resistances in the game. It only makes sense that it would now jump up in value.
But please, keep blaming streamers and the people following their builds for balance changes that inconvenienced you economically. The way I see it, making builds is more fun this patch than last one because of that change.
