Bitten by Bloodfiend?

A guildie was bitten by a Bloodfiend and has Noxiphilic Sanguivoria, but the Vampire shrines aren't allowing him to start the quest at them, neither his home shrine nor any other one. He doesn't have Graymoor - is Graymoor required for Vampirism with the latest updates? Can't think of any other reason it wouldn't give him an option to start the quest...

I think you need to wait a short amount of time to actually get the disease. This give you a chance to get cured before you get changed.

So, to check, go to mages guild in zone 5 and see if there is an option to be cured.

Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

    1. Noxiphilic Sanguivoria will fade away after a week, and you will lose your chance to become a vampire until you are bitten again.
    2. From what I know, you cannot seek a cure from the priests because you are not fully infected.
    3. There may be a specific NPC you need to talk to... my buddy remembers running into one outside of Riften, while he was playing an EP character. But, that was a while ago, and that information may be invalid at this point. (Edit: friend confirms this info is still valid and in-game, you just need to find the NPC.. I suspect they might be around the gates or wayshrines of the main town of whatever fifth zone you're working in (Reaper's March/The Rift/Bangkorai).)
    4. Greymoor is not required for vampirism, no.

if I could make another character, their name would be Cries-For-Character-Slots. AKA, I need more.

He should have been infected from the very first attack from the bloodfiends. I've gotten infections from them many times. He is missing the above-mentioned quest npc that should be hanging around the outskirts of the city of his home alliance.

Greymoor isn’t needed; a quest is (assuming he actually wants to be a vampire). He should go check out the main city of the fifth district in his alliance (I.e., the region where the bloodfiends spawn, i.e., Rawl’kha in Reaper’s March for AD) and pick up the quest that sends him to the altar from the vampire NPC lurking there.

I just had that happen, just tell him to go to the closest city to where he was bitten, there will be a vampire NPC outside the main gate that will take him to the shrine.
The NPC is unmarked, but will be dressed in all black with her hood up. You have to be very close for the quest marker to show up.
