Which pet do you drop in groups?

Dropping one pet would make sense in groups, the cleanfear is a tank/healer while the flying dude is more a mage, so dropping the clanfear would make sense. This would free 2 slots.

I always morph so that the Twilight Matriarch is my healing pet. So if I PUG as a sorceror healer, of course I use her.

When I duo with my wife I usually use both the scamp and Matriarch.

I haven't used the Clannfear for any purpose for a long time. (I used it heavily back when it worked very differently.)

Considering Clannfear scales off Stam for damage and HP for healing it makes little sense to ever use that pet in coordination with the Matriarch VS using the Matriarch/Scamp combo which both scale off Magicka and HP.

Clannfear is much more of a stamsorc variant pet so that they aren't left with nothing. Most petsorcs I see in dungeons use Scamp/Matriarch and the healer keeps them up or they keep their own shields up. Not sure what the point of swapping a pet out would be unless your group just really needed the extra help with staying alive or something.

The clannfear deals physical damage that scales off of your max stamina now. Assuming that you play a magicka character, I would drop the clannfear.

Both scale according to magicka, and i don t have any imp.

    Clannfear is for stamsorc.
Twilight and scamp are for magsorc.
    Magsorc DD drops no pet.

I personally don't drop any pets on my zoosorc. It has Twilight Tormentor (damage not heals), the scamp, Atro ult, and wears Maw, so commonly has up to 4 pets out and attacking at once. I keep daedric prey on my targets, making my whole entourage focus that targeted enemy and deal additional damage.

Try moving the HP sliders on this link and you'll see the clannfear's healing scales off your health.

Also, I'd like to mention the last line of the clannfear's tooltip: "The clannfear's basic attacks now scale off your Max Stamina. " Emphasis mine.

The matriarch's heals and damage, OTOH, scale off your magicka.

Dropping the clanfear is a good idea as it does not do much damage with a magicka build to begin with since it's damage is physical, not magicka based. It is only useful for solo and tanking.

The Volatile Familiar is a different story as it does solid damage. When pet builds have been solid builds I never dropped pets when in a group. There is no need to do so.

    @aenax

The link below is for the Unstable Clannfear and it clearly shows it is doing physical damage. With a magicka build the base damage is a fraction of what the Volitile Familar does before it's a special ability. The Clanfear is not a good choice when damage is the goal.

Twilight Tormentor is the only good pet for DPS, and should be used passively (don’t cast its active buff in a rotation). The Matriarch had its damage halved last year, so is really only for Sorc healers and some solo builds now. The Scamp is decent for AoE, but its stun can cause problems in group content and it is a single target DPS loss. The Clannfear is just for stam sorc and tanks.
