SKILL GAP vs PERFORMANCE

As a Vet player i struggle to make sense of a lot of fights in pvp and understand why i die alot of the time , was it me ? was it lag ? was it desink ? was it my shields or heals not going off ? was it some other random bug . So i cant imgaine how hard it must be for a new player to understand fights in pvp. and if yout understand how or why your dieing it makes it very hard to improve. Its the only game where day to day my same build will feel sooo diffent. i feel like pvp has just got more and more zergy and i think performance has a lot to do with it , for new players they not going to bother going over vods to work out why they dieing and improving , they just going to take the easy way and zerg witch is sad. COME ON ZOS please fix your game , [snip]

I believe every single player who stepped into Cyrodiil and even the ones who didn't at leat once asked about performance improvements (and it was only during this year!). We gave them thousands reasons to fix the performance, yet as long as player base is big enough they won't do anything, because there is no point in spending money on something which still gives nice and steady cash flow. They will start to act when players will start to mass leave the game... I hope at least.

Other option is that this game is designed to give as much money as possible and then die without further investments.

I'm sick and tired of hearing about Cadwell Silver&Gold as a "you think you do but you don't"-tier deflection to any criticism regarding the lack of overland difficulty in the game." - @AlexanderDeLarge

It's ironic. People stack zergs because in lag, it's hard to break free AND heal yourself. Then bigger zergs means more lag.

I do a bit of both solo running and zerging either with friends or surfing. I was by myself last night and I have noticed the impact of not doing it much lately because performance has been so bad, I have barely logged in outside of guild events.

And performance will be complained about so long as it's as huge an issue whether people like it or not. I mean; we cant even discuss balance without considering it. DK leap, as an example; in lag , the crippling snare it applies that ignores immunity because it's a gap closer, can last 5 seconds or more because it's taking the poor *** that long for it to dire while you get run down by their buddies. Should that be considered when doing balance? I dont think that would be fair to DKs

The problem is that once players leave, there is no way that ZOS will make big investments to improve performance, they'll just squeeze the last money out of crown crates and then let the game die.

i hate haveing to change builds around lag , a build that works amazing when the game works , sucks a lot in lag .

I dont rly play much these days, I do try to pvp a few times a week, just in the hope that the good ol' fun can be found. But it always ends in my skills not working or being delayed, lagg making it unplayable or some old bug thats never fixed keeps annoying me and I log off in frustration, so I just log in less and less, soon having ESO installed on my SSD wont be worth it and I will uninstall. This is how most of my friends feel too, its sad because ESO has so much potential imo, but its all wasted with the current state of the game :(

[...] i feel like pvp has just got more and more zergy and i think performance has a lot to do with it

I agree with you, it's atleast a part of the reason.
People don't like having their intended goal being interrupted (dying over and over again).
However they are more forgiving when the progress instead is being slowed down (zerging).
It doesn't matter what the long term effects are, who benefits the most out of it, what the best strategy is to reach said goal; people don't like dying because it halters their progress to reach said goal.

Most people don't play to get better, as getting better is usually something that happens automatically anyway, due to more and more experience within that field (exposure).
Staying in a zerg and being invisible, like a zebra is being camouflaged against the herd, makes the player more safe and let's them keep on going towards their intended goal (albeit personal progress is slower than if they were playing solo).

The lag/latency is causing a lot of unintended deaths.
The more experienced players can often deal with this without dying every 2 seconds (even if their "required bar" for being effecient is much higher), but to the "new guy" this often means they'll just die over and over again; halting their progression towards their intended goal. Grouping up in a zerg prevents that from happening.
The road to hell is paved with good intentions.

I agree but there is an assumption that players want to get better but there is absolutely no point. Best way to achieve objectives in Cyro is to Zerg better as long as it is this way it will be no pvp improvement moves. ;)
