I really want light/heavy attack buffs for physical weapons on magic based characters

I light and heavy attack with my sword on my magplar - trying my best to get that spellsword feeling - but I know I'm not even tickling my target. It sucks.

How do we make this work?

Make light/heavy attacks scale with the highest damage source. Make penetration one stat for both Stamina and Magicka (just call the defuff Breach).

On the CP trees, Piercing and Spell Erosion can be combined.

What else is standing in the way? Let's brainstorm solutions.

Please DO NOT homogenize stats. That is the last thing this game needs and will eventually lead to a watered down boring game.

I agree it would be fun to play as a spell sword but the best way to make that happen would be a new weapon skill tree specifically for melee weapons+spells or add in a passive somewhere else that grants your light attacks scaling with highest offensive stats.

Maybe in a Dawnguard skill line that I'm hoping we get.

Or you try a set like "Pelinal's Aptitude". That will boost your opposite Damage.
    Bosmer stamina nightblade!

Try being a Mblade as a Main all the way back to 2014 when Light attack weaving wasn't a "thing". We always ran Dual wield. This issue now has been talked/complained about for years. Light and heavy attack weaving LOCKS magic classes into destruction staves. This is not at all "Play as you want". The only real solution is as you stated, chain LA/HA damage to the highest resource pool for damage and for returned resources. I don't see it happening anytime soon. Not sure what their issue is, but I am sure the devs. have already had discussions about it in their meetings.
